Position Summary Leads the strategy development of a Health System program for supplier diversity and sustainability by providing input on the definition of strategies and creation of an operational plan for lifecycle processes and functionalities, including managing program events, marketing resources, establishing communication plans for internal and external business partners, implementing new technology that will enhance delivery agility, mitigating risk and aligning to corporate and strategic goals. Establishes direction and develops a strategic plan for the supplier outreach program. Establishes requirements for framework, tools, and learning methodology to increase supplier development and business relationships and increase brand awareness within diverse supplier communities. Trains and mentors employees at all levels inside and outside of the department as required. Creates a framework and plan for the sustainable purchase practices of the Procurement organization using 'Best in Class' sustainability practices. This position will collect and report sustainable, diverse, and local business spend and is responsible for analyzing trends for improvement opportunities. Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
  • Establish strategic direction and oversee the execution for supplier diversity and sustainability programs to build and grow a dynamic atmosphere needed to meet supplier diversity and sustainability state & corporate goals and objectives.
  • Develop standard operating procedures to identify how and when to consider sustainability in the procurement process.
  • Lead education of Supply Chain staff on sustainable and supplier diversity procurement to better equip staff with skills and awareness.
  • Participate as Supplier Diversity and Sustainability champion on various councils and teams' discussions such as Value Analysis, Sourcing, & Contracting.
  • Measure overall business effectiveness of the Supplier Diversity and Sustainability programs helping establish tools & processes to collect, track, summarize measurement data, creating reports and communicating status & results.
  • Develop and promote professional, sound business relationships with Diverse Suppliers, Procurement, and business unit stakeholders.
  • Create formal Tier II program which includes defining and managing prime supplier participation requirements and processes, including tracking and reporting, and benchmarking best practices in advance strategies.
  • This position description is not intended to be all-inclusive, and the employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and other management as required. Minimum Requirements Qualifications/Work Experience:
    • Five or more years of progressive management and leadership responsibility within healthcare, procurement, supplier diversity and sustainability.
    • Superior technical, interpersonal, communication and consensus-building skills; consistently flexible and constructive attitude.
    • Demonstrated customer service orientation with sensitivity to campus site customer needs.
    • Excellent communication skills with all types of media and all levels of leadership and employees; MMIS, data analysis expertise.
    • Knowledge of supply chain management policies, programs, practices and procedures and the supporting legal environment to analyze the impact of initiatives.
    • Demonstrated subject matter expertise for Federal, State and other regulatory accreditation standards as they relate to Healthcare requirements and site Materials Management functions. Education/Licensure/Certification:
      • Bachelor's degree with significant qualifications and experience relating to healthcare industry supply chain management. #J-18808-Ljbffr
