UTHealth Houston Community Based Clinic (CBC) Administration is hiring a Manager Financial Reporting and Accounting to join their team working a part-time, hybrid remote work schedule, Monday - Friday. The leadership team is looking for someone with experience in pulling reports from HCM and FMS. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Excel and Access database. Having the ability to pull reports from EPIC and Cubes is a plus. In this role, the Manager will create and distribute monthly department reports, provider productivity reports, and expense reports.

Position Summary:

The Financial Reporting & Accounting Manager is responsible and accountable for various aspects, possibly including all aspects, of the financial and management reporting department. Provides professional accounting expertise and skills; and supervises and directs the activities of financial operations within the accounting group.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Develops and reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, which includes operating statements, accounts receivable aging, and various performance measures.
  • Prepares special reports and analyses as requested; and presents reports to various stakeholders, as required. Oversees the preparation and distribution of financial reports as needed to assist in their financial management.
  • Involved with the preparation of the annual operating budget and coordinates with various departments as required.
  • May be involved with the monthly revenue recognition calculations related to professional fee revenue.
  • Supervises staff activities such as procurement, banking, account reconciliations, cash receipts, annual financial audits, and equipment lease schedules.
  • Manages Human Resources activities for direct reports in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations and salary-planning.
  • Ensures the appropriate institutional financial policies, procedures and controls are developed, maintained and implemented.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Certification/Skills:

    Certified Public Accountant is preferred.

    Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance-related field; Master's in Business Administration (MBA) preferred.

    Five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting, finance, clinical practice plan and related business experiences.

    Physical Requirements:

    Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

    This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215.

    Residency Requirement:

    Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
