Job DetailsWe are seeking a Global Procurement Manager for the Research and Pre-Clinical Development (R&pD) Lab Consumables team. This role involves developing and managing strategies for our subcategories, as well as planning and driving strategic sourcing initiatives. The Manager will be responsible for developing sourcing specifications, requirements, and scopes of work for RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs. They will gather and assess data through benchmarking, market intelligence reports, and Voice of the Customer (VoC) interviews, and perform analytics on spend, inventory levels, utilization, and important metric measurements. Additionally, the Manager will deliver measurable cost savings and monitor these savings against contracted terms and pricing. They will actively participate in supplier selection and relationship management, providing data-driven recommendations to management for informed decision-making. The Manager will work collaboratively with teammates and cross-functional partners across all Regeneron campuses and departments and handle ongoing supplier performance and service delivery. We are looking for a proactive and collaborative individual who can effectively lead supplier relationships and contribute to the success of our team.A typical day might include:
  • Accountable for supporting the definition and implementation of the global Lab Consumables Category strategy to serve global and regional business needs as assigned.
  • Working closely with partners to manage discussions related to the Lab Consumables Categories and aligning category priorities with Procurement management and stakeholders.
  • Manage negotiations, supplier management activities, and partner engagement activities for the Lab Consumables Category as assigned.
  • Takes direction to drive value in terms of cost savings, cash flow improvement, and other efficiency savings from category management activities.
  • Supports Global Procurement by participating in organizational decisions in the Lab Consumables categories with critical short and long-term impact on the success, efficiency, growth, and results of the category team.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of efficient global procurement organizations and processes within the biopharmaceutical industry to support the growth and evolution of the Global Procurement organization and leverages this knowledge to drive improvements within Regeneron, aligned with corporate priorities.
  • Manages category activities to ensure compliance with appropriate GxPs and other applicable regulations, as applicable.
  • Negotiates contract terms and conditions in consultation with Law department aligned with Regenerons priorities and business requirements.
  • May either directly or through a matrix structure, manages teams of professional level employees responsible for performing category management tasks (if applicable.)
  • May provide coaching and guidance on job performance and career development to direct reports (if applicable) and provides leadership examples for the organization.
  • Uses data to drive decision-making for successful category projects.
  • Coaches proficiency on procurement technical skills among global procurement team.
This role may be for you if you have:
  • Demonstrated success working effectively with cross-functional teams to get results in Lab Consumables category or related categories through effective sourcing, negotiations, contracting, and supplier relationship management.
  • The ability to provide insight and knowledge regarding rates, unit costs, and costing structures to enable optimal negotiations.
  • Uses external data sources, market information, and supplier engagement to constantly improve Regenerons knowledge of supply market dynamics.
  • Individual who is experienced operating with integrity, focus, and clarity in an environment of ambiguity to lead change and improvement.
  • Demonstrated success supporting the global supply market evaluation process using all available market intelligence, risk, compliance, and financial assessment tools.
  • Supports the primary relationship manager with key supplier relationship management activities.
  • Experience managing associate level professionals preferred.
  • Working knowledge with sourcing contracting tools, ERPs, and eRFx systems preferred. (Oracle, Zycus, Ariba, Other)
  • Ability to use standard business applications for communicating, presenting and analyzing (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Working knowledge and hands on experience supporting sourcing platform technologies preferred (LabViva, Zageno, ScienceExhange, Scientist.com, others)
  • Ability to use data analytics, automation and visualization tools to drive insights and communicate to partners and senior leadership (PowerBI, Tableau, Power Automate)
  • Demonstrate success and experience with cost models and total cost of ownership models
  • Management and implementation of inventory management programs including technology solutions (RFID, QR codes, others), consignment programs, VMI solutions, single use materials, bio-reagents and media etc.
  • This role requires working onsite a minimum of 3 days per week
To be considered for this role we require that you must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study plus relevant, progressive experience in procurement, including experience in Pharma/BioPharma.
