Location

NHQPurpose

Manager, Initial Quality Assurance ensures Hyundai and Genesis vehicles meet quality standards and regulations. Ensure highest level of quality possible by monitoring product quality and all facets of the VPC processing procedures; storage, final inspection, campaigns, accessory installation, load line audits and truck/rail transportation. They will assist in evaluation and test the functionality of the Dealer PDI app. They also maintain the Port Audit system, evaluate Port Installed Option accessories. They will be the main contact point for factory issues and communications.

Major Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

Collaboration with affiliates (HMNA, HMMA, HMGMA, GMA, HMC, GMC and suppliers)

Understand division plan for current year and work with teams to implement & achieve KPI's

Work with 3rd party vendor to monitor progress and issues

Build relationship with Factory personnel to identify top issues, investigate, report and share findings.

Work with related teams to monitor dealer warranty claims and ensure inspection are tailored to help reduce and enhance vehicle quality.

Participate in meetings for better understanding of issues/concerns (QIR, FSE, FTS, LQMP, MQ, Battery, etc)

Participate in the developing and maintaining quality systems: Creating and enforcing quality standards, procedures and policies.

Conducting quality audits: Ensuring that the minimum quality standards are met.

Training and educating staff: Teaching colleagues about best practices.

Monitoring and analyzing performance: Handling quality data to analyze the company's performance.

Staying up to date on regulations: Keeping track of laws and regulations that impact products.

Leading a team: Motivating, guiding and managing team members.

Communicating: Conveying quality standards and feedback to team members, stakeholders, upper management.

Vehicle Quality Assurance

Major Responsibilities (continued)

Quality Information Reports (QIR) are prepared as necessary to provide first-look knowledge of any product quality issues prior to dealer shipment.

Port Warranty claims review and approval.

Warranty repair parts oversight/support.

Conduct spot checks and report as needed.

Port campaign process oversight/support.

Conduct monthly FPOR (First Point of Rest), Load Line and Aged Inventory audits.

Visit rail ramps and do the audit to find rail transportation issues as needed.

Visit dealers and do the dealer PDI audit to find dealer PDI processing issues as needed.

Benchmark competitive vehicle product related to port/field issues.

Coordinate / Communicate with Service Engineer/Model-line engineer torelate port quality issues and field quality issues.

Perform special double inspection and authorization to release on all Genesis.

Port processing Quality Assurance:

HMA liaison with GLOVIS and Port processor. Work directly with the GLOVIS Port Manager and Port Processing staff to ensure that operations are to HMA standards.

Authority

Budget, report and vendor management, problem identification and problem solving only.

Education

~ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Applied Statistics/Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering preferred.Related Experience

Six or more years of experience in Automotive Quality Control / Quality Assurance. Automotive factory replated experience

Work experience managing and presenting budgets required.

Vendor contract management and negotiation skills required

Supervisory experience preferred.

Skills/Knowledge

Extensive automotive technical knowledge.

Proprietary hardware / software knowledge.

Proficient Computer Skills, strong knowledge with Microsoft Windows and Mac OSX operating system (Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point, etc).

Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, etc.

Knowledge in AIAG guidelines

Vehicle evaluation in both static and dynamic conditions.

High Degree of cross functional cooperation/coordination.

Ability to lead through influence vs direct authority.

Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for managing IQS data.

Knowledge with PDI Audit data.

Knowledge with PQMS to help ease workflow when compiling IQS data.

Budget management.

Certification

Quality certifications preferred.
