This is an in person position. Remote work will not be considered. SUMMARY JMI Sports is seeking a talented and driven candidate to join the northeast conference multimedia rights representation team, servicing the Ivy League, Atlantic 10 Conference, and the Patriot League. The Key Partnerships Manager is an integral part of the property sales and activations teams, responsible for driving sponsorship dollars and meeting their own sales goal, while also actively managing and executing sponsor fulfillment and activation for the northeast conferences. The successful candidate is extremely organized, highly motivated, creative, interested in and capable of selling effectively and independently, and very comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. This person will work closely with conference staff as part of a do what it takes commitment to the clients, the sale, and the delivery of the partnership. We strive to exceed expectations in everyday operations and contractual fulfillments. This full-time position is in-person located in New York, NY, and is not eligible for remote or work-from-home options. Occasional regional travel may be required. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Achieve annual Key Partnership Goal by successfully executing renewals and driving upsales to cover for any attrition, including personally negotiating and closing sponsorship sales contracts
  • Collaborate with the northeast New Partnerships team and leadership on strategies to increase productivity, revenue generation, execution and results
  • Develop great working relationships with key personnel at assigned conferences
  • Review and approve asset sales for adequate availability, approved pricing and rate card
  • Perform financial analysis of Key Partnerships sponsorship deals detailing gross fee, activation costs and net sponsorship revenue
  • Work with management and legal through contract execution
  • Create compelling conceptual sponsorship packages to maximize exposure and results for sponsors
  • Collaborate with internal team members and external partners to ideate, develop, and pitch strategic marketing platforms for new prospects and sponsors
  • Develop and maintain relationships with top brand decision makers and their advertising agencies
  • Implement best-practices to achieve exceptional results in-line with the Company's mission of partnership driven, white-glove, consultative sales strategies
  • Oversee the coordination of fulfillment elements to ensure proper delivery of all promised benefits
  • Collaborate with New Partnerships team members to facilitate the ongoing development of sponsor relationships to both surround the client and effectively and positively transition New Partnerships sponsors to the Key Partnerships team
  • Maintain detailed CRM of all sponsor communications to ensure accurate revenue, pipeline, activity, and sponsor records
  • Prepare year end reviews for clients at season end
  • Contribute thoughts or actions to boost revenues for Company and our partners
  • And other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in sports marketing and/or sales, or a related field
  • Interest in, and working understanding of, college athletics
  • Experience in event management and sponsor activation
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe PDFs; Photoshop and/or KORE CRM experience a plus
  • Thorough research and analytical skills including the ability to synthesize findings into actionable plans
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
  • Strengths in time management and effective multi-tasking
