This is considered a critical role in our success to high levels of service with customers and also with logistics cost management. Broad exposure is expected and requires insightful analysis.Analyze, recommend and implement Logistics opportunities driven by continually achieving a lowest cost to serve model within Logistics.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES –Transportation Cost Control & AnalysisDevelop, maintain and report transportation metrics with the overall goal of ensuring that we are constantly working toward a lowest cost model. Involves working with 3rd party transportation provider and StarKist finance to constantly improve and automate metrics. Includes but is not limited to the following activities:Develop & analysis of 3PL routing guideSpot market transportation control & analysisCost pass-through auditing & analysisLoad cube analysis & optimizationProduct returns evaluationMaintenance of monthly data feeds from 3PLLead and/or participate in special studies & projects as needed for impacting the StarKist Supply Chain.Recommend and implement alternatives to management when service and cost risks are identified.Warehouse Cost ManagementDevelop strategies with our 3PL partner to reduce costs.Audit all 3PL warehouse billings.Develop, maintain and report metrics on this area. Develop automation of metrics through SAP.Blocked Stock Inventory ManagementManage old age, QA held, warehouse and shipping damaged and obsolete inventories. Accountable for overall minimization of product loss. Includes analysis of inventory data and also the coordination of finding best opportunities for minimizing risk of write-offs. Possible outlets include but not limited to rework, repack, salvage sale and donation.Develop and implement process changes across the plants, carriers, warehouses, customers to minimize inventory loss and damage from point of production to decrease overall inventory levels while keeping excellent service levels to our customers.Develop, maintain and report metrics on this area. Develop automation of metrics through SAP.Freight & Warehouse Claim ManagementManage StarKist's freight claim process with the objective of recovering a maximum amount of the product value from carriers that are deemed to be responsible for StarKist's product shortage, loss or damage.Interact with our ocean carriers, transportation companies and warehouses in order to collect where these parties are responsible for damages and shortages.Develop StarKist policies and strategies to minimize risk and streamline processes.Develop, maintain and report metrics on this area. Develop automation of metrics through SAP.Unsalables ManagementManage vendor conducting unsalables audit.Analyze all data collected and make recommendations to StarKist leadership team on changes to policies, sales strategies, packaging, handling and shipping methods that will ultimately reduce the amount of product going to reclaim by our customers or being written off in our plants or DCs.KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES -10 years of overall professional experience in Logistics/Supply Chain.Bachelor Degree required, Masters preferred (Supply Chain, Finance, Business)Exceptional analytical skills.Experience with International freight requirementsUnderstanding of Logistics RFP processesSAP experience is highly preferred (or similar ERP system).Ability to think strategically across the entire StarKist supply chain to develop solutions to complex problems.Understanding of the P&L and budgeting process.Knowledge of the supply chain functional areas (i.e. C/S, Transportation, Warehouse, Demand / Supply Planning, etc.).Excellent interpersonal skills to work productively in a highly cross-functional environment.Leadership / influencing / negotiations skills necessary to lead project teams without position authority and to support business interests with the customer.Highly resilient with results driven attitude.Excellent presentation skills.Knowledge of corporate policies and compliance.If you have a disability and cannot apply online, please mail your resume and cover letter to:StarKist Co.1875 Explorer Street10th FloorReston, VA 20190ATTN: Human ResourcesPlease note: this option is for individuals with disabilities only.StarKist Co. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
