We are committed to fostering a supportive and rewarding work environment for our employees.Job Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager of Billing and Collections to oversee and optimize our revenue cycle management processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of healthcare billing, collections, and reimbursement regulations, particularly within the skilled nursing facility (SNF) setting. This role requires excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.Must Haves:Must have extensive knowledge of Skilled Nursing Facility Billing including, but not limited to, Medicare Part A and B, Medicare Advantage and State Medicaid payers. Must be able to provide training to Regional and Facility business office staff. Frequent travel is required.Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the billing and collections department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of claims.Manage the entire revenue cycle, from claim submission to payment posting, including denial management and appeals.Develop and implement effective collection strategies to minimize outstanding accounts receivable.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to billing and collections, such as days sales outstanding (DSO), clean claim rate, and collection percentage.Identify and resolve billing and collection issues, working closely with insurance companies, government agencies, and other payers.Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA.Supervise, train, and mentor billing and collections staff, fostering a positive and productive team environment.Prepare regular reports on billing and collection activity for management review.Collaborate with other departments, such as admissions, clinical, and finance, to ensure seamless revenue cycle operations.Stay up-to-date on changes in healthcare billing and reimbursement regulations.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered. Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare billing and collections, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role within a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or similar healthcare setting.In-depth knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party payer regulations.Strong understanding of ICD-10 coding, HCPCS coding, and medical terminology.Proficiency in using billing and collection software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
