About Victims Resource Center (VRC)
Victims Resource Center has been serving the community since 1974. VRC is a vital non-profit organization providing non-judgmental support and services to victims of violence, their families and significant others throughout Luzerne, Wyoming and Carbon Counties. VRC also provides a wide variety of prevention education programs in the community.
Responsibilities
Responsible for programmatic supervision and direction of the VRC Clinical /Direct Services. Responsible for assuring high quality professional casework/case management and counseling services. Maintains sufficient competencies in the functions performed by individuals supervised to assist them in their duties during periods of absences or vacancies. Assumes or assigns such day-to-day duties in the areas supervised to assure that the service needs of VRC are fulfilled.
Qualifications
BA or BS Degree in a Social or Human Service field or equivalent experience with a minimum of eight years experience in assisting victims of crime or relevant field. Minimum of five years supervisory ability and administration skill required. Experience working with victims of crime in multi-disciplinary teams required. Must be self-assured, assertive and confident in working with diverse groups. Good community networking skills, public speaking skills and written and oral communication skills required. Ability to work variable hours on a daily and/or weekly basis. Must possess the ability to work independently and participate with a work collective. Familiarity with personal computers to include word processing and databases is preferred. Must demonstrate a commitment to the principles of empowerment, self-determination and diversity as per VRC mission and philosophy. Must successfully complete training and certification as Sexual Assault Counselor and Domestic Violence Counselor/Advocate. Ability to travel is required.
