The position of Manager of Member Relations is of great significance to Valley Wide Cooperative. A person in this position is responsible for providing value to new and existing members, increasing customer satisfaction, educational opportunities, and developing initiatives that will promote the Coop and the value of membership. A person in this position will ensure the member experience supports the company's objectives and represents the cooperative's mission statement, vision and values. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cooperative principles and a passion for agricultural development.
Job Summary:
These are the basic requirements of the position and must be performed competently:
Spearhead initiatives to spread the awareness of the advantages of membership through digital innovation, traditional outreach, and engaging events. Continuously assess customer and member needs to address and achieve maximum satisfaction.Serve as a lead in the member onboarding process, providing comprehensive information and education on membership advantages and opportunities.Ability to conceptualize and implement new services and programs to promote the benefits of membership.Build relationships with existing members, customers, and members of the community to consistently promote the benefits of a cooperative community. Prepare reports according to the Board's needs for the patronage and equity programs. Advocate for member interests in relevant associations while always upholding our vision and core values. Support members by bridging knowledge gaps and navigate generational transitions or succession. Ability to plan and oversee a large successful event, including understanding relevant regulations, and compliance standards. Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES:
Must have a strong understanding of cooperative principles and the agricultural sector.Proven ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment when making decisions and during interactions with members or customers.Proactive and forward-thinking approach, with ability to foresee future trends and member needs. Takes initiative to connect with members; respond timely to requests and/or inquiries from members or customers.Marketing and or mass communication knowledge and experience helpful High School diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.2+ years' experience in a co-op system or prior membership relation role. Must have strong communication skills; ability to communicate in an appropriate, professional manner with managers, supervisors, employees, customers, vendors and the general public.Must exhibit a professional and positive image.
