PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The Manager of Process Improvement and Strategic Projects is responsible for District process improvement activities. This position will facilitate project management and provide, leadership in operational, system, and process improvement, utilizing continuous improvement methodologies to support informed decision-making.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic Process Auditors

  • Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives, and parameters found in the Board's strategic plan.
  • Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
  • Acts as the liaison for all district-wide strategic projects and facilitates the project management process for the district, analyzing projects to improve efficiency, quality, satisfaction, and financial results.
  • Develops district-wide system for organizing process improvements and strategic projects, and develops and maintains district-wide auditing cycles aligned with the department's strategic priorities.
  • Collaborates with leadership to identify and prioritize process improvement strategies.
  • Engages with project leads and participants to encourage the timely closure of open projects, assesses whether system objectives have been achieved, and provides necessary support to facilitate project completion.
  • Reviews processes for identification of possible future projects and supports future project leaders with training, support and coaching in Project Management.
  • Updates and maintains documentation on process improvements and process performance.
  • Partners on strategies, communication, and enhancements aligned with the District Strategic Plan.
  • Develops and trains the District Strategic Process Auditors in alignment with the department's strategic priorities and audit schedule.
  • QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of continuous improvement experience in Kaizen events, Lean manufacturing, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis preferred. Certified Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt preferred.

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Ability to demonstrate qualities aligned to our core values of Character, Communication, Collaboration and Continuous Improvement.
  • Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite and project management tools.
  • Must have strong analytical, communication, relationship building, and technical writing skills.
  • Project management.
  • Must possess a strong attention to detail.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS: Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel. Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work.
