About ThedaCare! Summary : The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the payroll function for our payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and providing exceptional support to our employees. Works collaboratively with team members, leaders, and HR partners to ensure accurate and timely bi-weekly entries. Audits for compliance with policies, pay practices, and federal and state wage and hour and payroll tax laws. Provides education on time and attendance system and prepares reports to support leaders. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Workday Payroll and possess strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills. Job Description: Key Accountabilities
  • Manages and oversee the end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate payroll delivery.
  • Ensures accurate taxation of earnings, employee deductions, and other garnishments. Processes year-end adjustments as required.
  • Serves as the primary escalation point of contact for questions related to time cards, pay checks, policies, and time and attendance inquiries. Takes appropriate actions to mitigate future issues from arising.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and company policies. Implements updates to policies and procedures, as needed.
  • Prepares, reconciles, and submits payroll tax filings as required by federal and state (W-2's, 941's etc.). Remits reports through third-party web sites including ACH file transmittal.
  • Responsible for balancing Quarter and Year-End data and maintaining ADP SmartCompliance for all tax payments and processing.
  • Manages year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and distribution.
  • Prepares and reviews payroll reports, including tax filings, wage statements, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for Workday Payroll configuration, testing, and reporting.
  • Reviews and assists with the processing and recording of annual rate increases, special pays, etc., including the auditing of related activity.
  • Assists with employment verification, payroll audits, and other initiatives as identified.
  • Collaborates with internal and external resources, including consultants, vendors, and project teams, to support efficient execution of implementations, enhancements, and projects.
  • Leads the payroll team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Trains team members and leaders on the time and attendance system.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of five years of payroll management experience, with at least three years of experience using Workday Payroll preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
  • Experience in managing payroll for a large, multi-state organization preferred.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance
  • Job classification is not exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties
