Our unwavering goal is to sustain market leading capabilities to produce glass mat that meets the ever changing needs of our customers.SummaryThe Nonwovens Process Excellence Manager is responsible for driving multi-plant process excellence across GAF's Nonwovens organization.. This role provides technical process support across the Nonwovens network and product lines to drive OEE and MUV and is responsible for raw material and finished product quality, reliable manufacturing processes, and driving continuous improvement throughout the network. The Nonwovens Process Excellence Manager will drive standardization, innovation, and continuous improvement to deliver best in class nonwovens quality, reliability, and flexibility. This role will be the intersection between R&D, Procurement, Capital Delivery, and Operations; bringing all aspects together to deliver value for the Customer and the business.Essential DutiesSpecific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and support the process/chemistry innovation efforts and improvements to ensure glass mat meets and exceeds customer FFU's (Fitness for Use).
- Supply plant and business support on projects and activities that provide additional operating income through the application of variation reduction techniques, process modification, product modification, product design, new raw materials, improved raw material utilization, more cost-effective use of raw materials, and improved line speed.
- Drive consistency and optimization of finished Mat properties and work alongside roofing customers to achieve them.
- Develop and lead Communities of Practice (CoP) to establish Best Practices development and sharing. Drive adoption at the plants, celebrate successes, and build the GBS library for recommended practices.
- Strengthen the Communities of Practice (CoP) and utilize talent across the network to lead troubleshooting efforts, sharing of knowledge, and communication between plants to improve performance.
- Drive sustainability efforts across mat plant operations.
- Lead, guide, and prioritize alternative RM qualifications with the procurement group as well as R&D.
- Partner with Plant Managers, Technical Managers, and Quality Assurance Team to ensure execution of audits and gap closure plans.
- Drive consistency and optimization of mat finished goods and work alongside roofing customers to achieve them.
- Implements continuous improvements to the process and sustains previous improvements using the GAF Business System tools. Specifically, actively participates in 5S, practical problem solving, elimination of waste, and visual management.
- Drive standardization and capture/documentation of best practice procedures across all three Mat plants.
- Apply standard GAF systems to ensure that project documentation exists to facilitate future application.
- Partner with Finance, Procurement and Operations teams to develop business cases to support asphalt and capital deployment strategies.
- Perform research required to improve and develop processes. Partners with plant personnel to optimize current processes and process knowledge.
- Establish relationships with external process and equipment experts to identify standard instrumentation and equipment, and recommended maintenance standards for the plant systems.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to Technical Services Managers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor's degree in a technical field required, preferably in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- 10+ years of demonstrated experience in a continuous web manufacturing environment with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Domestic travel is required (50%).
