The ideal candidate is to have the ability to conduct the research studies from concept, design, execution and proposals. Meanwhile the candidate also needs to demonstrated skills in interpret the results and implement in developing and/or reformulating food and beverage products. Candidate must have a solid technical background with creative bench skills; and be open minded and work collaboratively across functions.

What You'll Do for Us

* Design, develop, conduct and/or review experiments (e.g., laboratory or research and application experiment) to create new learnings, verify hypotheses or evaluate new ingredients, products, processes.

* Lead the application research project, identify gaps and opportunities, get resources and work with cross-functional team for project scopes, plan and execution.

* Apply knowledge of sweeteners, food science with research principles to improve overall taste quality and stability.

* Understand the rational of data set and could extrapolate and interpret result from chemical analysis, sensory analyses or consumer test to influence stakeholders/partners and drive project forward.

* Writes detailed & accurate reports for analyses, experiments, or projects. Communicate clearly in email and verbally with technical, non-technical, domestic and international audiences.

* Gathers and organizes information under tight timelines to support senior management's decision-making.

* Lead or actively drive in team projects, interdepartmental/divisional committees, or company-wide initiatives to share information, represent the department/division perspective or assist with product development, process modification, package development and marketing.

* Leverages prior education, suppliers, and literature to innovate within scope of briefs provided by other technical experts or supervisor.

* Applies food science knowledge and seek for internal and external resources/learning of ingredients, packaging, processing to assure safe and high-quality products.

* Leads project meetings within the category, cross-functionally with marketing, customer management or technical groups. Manages, coaches, and train technicians, or junior developers on specific project/tasks.

Qualification & Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry or related field is required, 7+ years of successful experiences, Master's degree 4+ years or PHD 2+ years is preferred.

* At least 3+ years experiences of research on ingredients, food or beverages.

* Project Management: Knowledge of project management principles and the ability to apply the principles, tools, and techniques to develop/plan, manage or execute projects or work plans to ensure successful completion (e.g., on time, within budget).

* Building Technical Relationships: Ability to apply technical knowledge and establish credibility with highly technical audiences to build technical relationships that will benefit customers or the Company.

* Ingredients: Knowledge of and experience with key ingredients used in production of concentrates and beverage bases (e.g., caramel, citric acid, sodium benzoate, phosphoric acid, natural flavors).

* Product Development: Deep knowledge and practical application of the product development process. Flexible and creative development skills with a strong attention to detail.

* Beverage Manufacturing: Knowledge of and ability to apply carbonated and non-carbonated beverage processing techniques (e.g., proportioning, carbonating, syrup manufacturing, filling). Ability to apply technical knowledge and establish credibility through written reports and verbal presentations with highly technical audiences to build technical relationships that will benefit customers, or the Company is needed.

* Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), formula/database type systems, and capable user.

* Basic Organic Chemistry: Knowledge of basic organic structures, reactions, functional groups and properties needed to understand the reactions of organic compounds in Company products. This includes the understanding of moderately complex principles to problem-solve package or ingredient related issues.

* Endurance: Willingness and ability to occasionally function effectively over extended periods of time. Ability to be flexible and adjust priorities based on business needs.

* Laboratory Practices: Knowledge and application of Good Laboratory Practices (e.g., handling of chemicals and glassware, preparation of standards and reagents, proper measuring techniques, data management, housekeeping).

* Proprietary Composition Information: Ability to recognize and protect proprietary information as it relates to formulas and ingredients.

* Communication skills: Ability to layout the technical background and explain the concepts and results clearly. Ability to drive the project and lead the cross-functional team towards a successful project cycle.

Pay Range:

$120,000 - $149,000

Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.

Annual Incentive Reference Value Percentage:

15

Annual Incentive reference value is a market-based competitive value for your role. It falls in the middle of the range for your role, indicating performance at target.
