POSITION SUMMARY
Sony Corporation of America (SCA) is seeking a Manager, Tax Compliance and Reporting for the Global Tax Office located in NYC. This position will report to the Director, Tax Compliance and Reporting
This position will be on a Hybrid schedule with 3-4 days per week in the NYC office.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare quarterly and annual global income tax provision calculation under IFRS; tax account reconciliations; computation of book to tax differences; tracking of deferred taxes inventory; effective tax rate reconciliation and other analysis of income tax amounts including preparation of tax-related journal entries.
Prepare quarterly and annual tax allocation to segments .
Prepare tax forecast, budget and cash flow for Sony U.S. consolidated group.
Compile consolidated tax return workpapers from segment prepared tax packages, prepare consolidated federal tax return and disclosures.
Communicate with segments supervisor and act as a liaison between segments.
Understand IFRIC23(FIN48) Positions, update and analyze the impact of IFRIC23(FIN48) reserves to the Company's US federal tax attributes.
Assist in performing research of all income related tax issues with respect to their impact on Company operations.
Assist in any consolidated/combined filing audits and potential standalone Federal/State audits
Support continuous improvements in tax provision processes by exercising out of the box thinking to optimize efficiency, including collaboration with internal process transformation team and other tax specialty groups
Proactively manage and maintain provision and compliance deadlines
Assist in special tax projects as needed - implementation of OneSource Tax Provision
Prepare Corporate tax returns

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
Your qualifications and experience should include:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is required
CPA and/or Masters in Tax preferred
Minimum of 6-8 years of public accounting and/or corporate tax experience
Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
Highly motivated individuals with strong attention to detail
Solid understanding of book and tax accounting required
Broad exposure to Federal and State income tax rules preferred
Proficient with Excel, MS Word, OneSource Tax Provision, Corptax compliance software
Working knowledge of SAP a plus

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $135,000 to $145,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
