Manager Treasury & Insurance Accounting (Solventum)

The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Manager Treasury & Insurance Accounting, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. This position will play a critical role in managing the accounting and reporting for financial instruments, from recording journal entries to providing required disclosures for SEC filings.
Treasury Accounting
Accounting and reporting – managing the accounting activity related to the company's Treasury activities including cash pooling, debt, investments, balance sheet hedging, net investment hedging, cash flow hedging, cross currency swaps and interest rate swaps
Preparing and reviewing required disclosures to support SEC filings
Monitoring US GAAP and SEC developments and evaluating the impacts of new accounting and reporting rules
Researching and documenting accounting matters including those related to ASC 815, Derivatives and Hedging and ASC 830, Foreign Currency Matters
Managing and ensuring the accuracy of accounting transactions within Kyriba, our treasury management software
Fostering and maintaining a strong partnership with Treasury
Maintaining SOX controls over the areas of ownership
Collaborating with Tax, Technical Accounting, Controllers, Internal and External Auditors
Providing management with timely information and guidance for decision making and analysis
Assisting with other significant projects as needed (such as acquisitions, divestitures, establishing new policies, advise on new types of transactions, foreign currency matters)
Insurance Accounting
Accounting and reporting – managing the accounting activity related to prepaid insurance, accrued liability and the newly formed Captive Company
Preparing and reviewing insurance reconciliations
Collaborating with Treasury on risk management and with Legal and Insurance on legal claims and settlements
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher and 10 years of Finance and/or Accounting in a private, public, government or military environment.
5 years of technical experience in derivatives and hedge accounting.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Master's degree in finance, accounting or related degree
CPA and/or CMA
Experience working for a public accounting firm
Knowledge and experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, JDE)
Ability to quickly understand complex transactions
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong managerial skills
Ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment
