Job Title: Managing Director

What we are looking for:

Dover Food Retail (DFR) has an exciting career opportunity for a Managing Director (MD), based out of Richmond, VA. This critical role is an integral part of the DFR Leadership Team.

Reporting to the President of DFR, as an MD, you will establish business plans to achieve revenue and profitability objectives for a > $500 million business with full responsibility for two (2) P&L's for our display case and glass door businesses. In collaboration with the functional leaders, peers, and cross-functional teams, you will develop marketplace opportunities, lead sales pursuits, oversee internal processes, and provide employee leadership in the achievement of common goals, while ensuring a safe and engaged workforce and top-notch customer satisfaction.

What you will be responsible for in this role:

  • Must be capable of translating objectives and needs into deliverable strategy to achieve business goals and create a competitive advantage of the product portfolio.
  • Proven experience working with customers in key areas, including lifecycle management and regulatory/industry compliance practices.
  • Success delivering business objectives through effective cross-functional and regional relationship building.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct market sales in technical areas.
  • Drive and deliver customer issue project management and escalation.
  • Partner with the VP of Operations to achieve conversion cost objectives.
  • Execution of P&L to forecast.
  • Hire, assess, develop and grow talent and build world class capabilities, processes and tools.
  • KPIs: Topline Revenue Growth, Product Mix Revenue Growth, Net Profitability, Market Share Expansion, Customer Satisfaction, Forecast Accuracy.

What are the basic qualifications?

  • Bachelor's degree (i.e. Engineering, Product Marketing, Supply Chain, Business)
  • 8+ years of experience leading a Commercial Organization
  • 8+ years of experience owning and delivering a P&L

To be a great fit for the role:

  • Demonstrated experience running a robust SIOP process.
  • Advanced professional maturity with a high degree of Emotional Intelligence (EI) and self-awareness.
  • Advanced knowledge of MRP/ERP and Advance Planning tools.
  • Strong understanding and use of KPI's.
  • Knowledge of Lean methodology/industry relevant certifications (i.e. LEAN, CPIM, APICS, Six Sigma).
  • High level of motivation, being a self-starter with strong organizational skills.
