Job Description:
The Managing Director is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Yale Center for Natural Carbon Capture, promoting research on carbon capture and reduction of greenhouse gases using biological, ecological, geological, chemical, and/or engineering approaches. The Managing Director will contribute to program development and will be responsible for program management, preparation of regular reports, public outreach, online communications, donor relations, financial oversight, and supervising administrative staff.
Serve as primary coordinator and liaison for the Yale Center for Natural Carbon Capture (YCNCC), supporting research, training, and outreach activities.Manage programs within the Center, such as a postdoctoral fellowship program, workshops, and a research seed grants program.Assist with preparing and tracking budgets and monitoring expenses.Manage staff and coordinate activities across various administrative offices, faculty, scientific leadership team, steering committee, funders, and other stakeholders.Develop and foster relationships with other Yale Centers, Schools, Departments, and outside agencies.Assist with raising additional funds for the center, including interacting with private and corporate donors.Compile reports and prepare presentations on the Center's activities and progress.Be the first point of contact for inquiries and serve as a liaison between Center scientists and external stakeholders.Work closely with the Center Communications Director on the development and maintenance of the Center's website and outreach materials.Oversee the organization and hosting of events such as seminars, workshops, and conferences.Required Education and Experience:
MS degree in a relevant scientific field and five years of related experience in research/academic administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.Demonstrated expertise in natural climate solutions and/or carbon management.Required Skills:
