About Lavinia Group

Founded in 2015, Lavinia Group closes the opportunity gap by helping our partner schools achieve world-class literacy and math instruction through exceptional leader and teacher training. We provide our client partners with hands-on, immersive, side-by-side guidance so that schools build the capacity and capabilities to sustain their gains long after working with us.

Location: Remote with 40% of travel

Office and Travel: This role requires about 40% travel, which includes travel to client sites, meetings to build new partnerships, and conferences. We estimate the travel at about 8 days per month with seasonal highs and lows. There is no central Lavinia Group office, so the Managing Director will work from home when traveling.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Vice President of School Partnerships, the Managing Director of School Partnerships manages a focused strategy to achieve excellent outcomes across a diverse portfolio of network and school partnerships. They manage a team of consultants to deliver exceptional teacher and leader development in service of ensuring world-class, culturally responsive learning for students across the country. The Managing Director will oversee a variety of partnerships requiring skills in strategy development and implementation, data driven outcomes, management of others, leading adaptive change, and business development. They will manage a portfolio of district and school partnerships to meet or exceed impact and revenue goals and will work closely with the Vice President of School Partnerships and the Programs Team to ensure there is a robust pipeline of partnerships seeking to implement Lavinia Group's core instructional model. The Managing Director will drive outcomes aligned to Lavinia Group's theory of action, strategic plan and organizational mission. This senior-level position sits on the Schools Leadership Team, which is charged with the success and health of all school partnerships.

What You'll Do

Leading for Impact: Portfolio Management

* Oversee a portfolio of large, complex partnerships to achieve excellent student outcomes

* Build strong, trusting relationships with all stakeholders and leverage relationships to build capacity and drive towards outcomes

* Actively monitor progress towards goals and creatively intervene when projects are off-track to drive towards outcomes

* Boldy invite and lead discussions about diversity, equity and inclusion that lead to disruption of historical patterns of inequity

* Provide direct service delivery to selected partnerships

Team Mentoring, Performance Management and Talent Development

* Manage, develop, evaluate, and retain a diverse team of consultants in the oversight of their partnerships in order to achieve excellent student outcomes and business expansion

* Provide on-the-ground and differentiated coaching to consultant team members and ensure each consultant is developing new skills to effectively lead partners

* Ensure ongoing talent management, bench building and career development across teams

Partnership and Business Development

* Develop and maintain strategic relationships with national, state, district and other national education influencers

* Write proposals and serve as executive sponsor for RFPs

* Attend and present at national conferences and be fluent in Lavinia Group's core instructional model and curriculum products

* Actively pursue new partnerships to support business development

* Actively monitor feedback related to the delivery of services offered by Lavinia Group in order to maintain high quality and provide strategic advisement to the Program Team for new product development

Fiscal and Resource Management

* Oversee and drive revenue generation within portfolio with clear revenue targets

* Effectively oversee budget management for philanthropic, organizational and fee-for-service contracts within portfolio

* Forecast staffing needs across portfolio and work with other senior leaders to make staffing decisions, balancing field needs and financial sustainability

* Utilize and maintain systems for deploying full-time staff and consultants

* Manage financial and human resources to meet or exceed impact and revenue goals

Qualifications

* An accomplished leader with a minimum of 8-10 years of senior management experience in the K-12 district, charter, or non-profit space

* A track record of leading teams to achieve strong academic outcomes for students at scale, with a vision for instructional excellence

* Experience leading teams of 10 or more to achieve and exceed targeted goals

* Superior written and verbal communication skills

Compensation range for this position: $170,000-$210,000

As part of our commitment to pay equity, new hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the salary band minimum and the salary band midpoint depending on qualifications, location, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.
