Summary: This position is responsible for working closely with the firm's clients and relationship managers, as well as other in-house and outside advisory professionals, to analyze a client's current financial situation and develop sophisticated plans (comprehensive or modular) designed to address a client's key concerns, implementation of those recommendations, and spot issues and opportunities that might impact the realization of client's goals.

Salary Range: The salary range budgeted for this position is $200,000/yr to $250,000/yr and represents the Company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The compensation offered to a candidate may vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location.

The Company also offers various benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and 401K match. Other rewards may include annual performance-based bonuses and wellness days.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Employee is responsible for adherence to all compliance programs and the completion of all required and assigned training by established due dates.
  • Understands and complies with requirements of all laws and regulations applicable to the position.
  • Define the scope of the planning engagement.
  • Gather qualitative and quantitative client data.
  • Understand the client's current financial situation, concerns, and goals.
  • Develop recommendations for actions and services appropriate to the client's situation.
  • Implement and monitor plan recommendations.
  • Analyze and interpret current client data and the probability of successfully meeting goals.
  • Model alternative options for the success of the plan, if necessary.
  • Spot potential problems and opportunities.
  • Participate in meetings with prospective client(s) and possible travel with relationship managers to highlight services and value proposition of the planning group.
  • Lead and participate in plan presentation meetings to effectively communicate results and recommendations to the client and relationship managers.
  • Research specific issues relevant to clients or requested by relationship managers.
  • Keep current on changes in trends and laws and communicate changes to colleagues and clients.
  • Coach and support advisors in developing a financial planning process; serve as mentor to the Wealth Planning team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

    Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree required and CFP certified.
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in a financial planning capacity.
  • Additional background in tax, finance, estate, tax or business law, investment management, and/or insurance preferred.
  • Familiar with the Financial Planning process (the 6 Steps of Financial Planning) and most basic concepts of investment, retirement, insurance, income tax, estate, and risk planning.
  • Skills:

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat X Pro. CRM (or other contact management software), financial planning software (such as eMoney), preferred.
  • Well-developed work ethic.
  • Exceptional organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Exceptional math, analytical, and research skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work effectively with a team or independently.
  • Work efficiently with a heavy workflow, tight time constraints, varying personality types, and related pressures.
