Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Passing score on the following ACT WorkKeys Assessments:
- Applied Math
- Graphic Literacy
- Workplace Documents
- Workplace Observation
- Passing score on the Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test
- Ability to attain certification/qualification for performing various assembly/material operations
- Ability to obtain a Company license to operate a forklift/powered industrial vehicle
- Proficient with email, data entry, and production/material management systems
- Three to five years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required
- US Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret level security clearance
NOTE: We have multiple openings on both first and second shifts but you must be available to work either first or second shift. First shift hours are 7:00 AM to 4:45 PM/Second shift hours are 4:30 PM to 2:15 AM with a 10% night bonus.
SUMMARY
Assemble and inspect complex, high reliability Electro-Mechanical-Optical products from various forms of documentation (pictorial work instructions, travelers, drawings, etc). Apply mechanical aptitude with attention to detail to achieve quality and productivity objectives. Work with other team members to eliminate manufacturing defects, material scrap, and process inefficiencies. Position may require physical movement and accurate management of production material throughout the manufacturing process utilizing a computerized MRP control system and material control techniques
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform high reliability assembly using manual tools, fixtures, and process machinery
- Understand and follow manufacturing work instructions and equipment operating procedures
- Perform material control activities (as assigned) to receive, count, label, inspect/disposition, store select, transfer, pack/ship, and transport production material
- Safely perform work while wearing personal protective equipment
- Inspect own work, work of peers, and supplied material using various measuring tools
- Document assembly and inspection information on paper forms and in computer systems
- Clean and organize work area on a daily basis
- Perform additional tasks to support the efficient operation of the business

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Personal Protective Equipment: May include safety glasses, gloves, safety shoes, ear plugs, hard hat, respirator
- Hazardous Material: Use and disposal of hazardous chemicals/waste
- Physical: Lifting (50 – 60 pounds individually), with some gripping, standing, bending, squatting, pulling, pushing, and reaching
- Schedule: Planned and unplanned overtime may be required
