MANUFACTURING BUYER - Radio Frequency Systems : Job Details

**BUYER**

We are searching for a BUYER at our MERIDEN facility.

Main mission of the role:

The project buyer will define demands, validate pricing with procurement, evaluate bids, and make selections on behalf of the company for a given product line.

The project buyer is a responsible for :

procurement, implementing the procurement strategy in line with existing commodity, and supplier strategies

identifying the adequate sources to achieve design-to-cost / design-for-manufacturing targets,

sourcing the items related to the bill of material in line with the Group Purchasing Policy and Commodity Leaders strategies,

the performance of the suppliers Costs, Quality & Deliveries during project phase

involving purchasing/suppliers early in the project to optimize costs

managing suppliers bidding process

managing suppliers readiness all over the Product Life Cycle (PLC)

working with quality project in order to ensure APQP (Product Quality Planning) deployment

ensuring the proper transfer from project to plant

reporting performance projects KPIs

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Bachelors Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or engineering degree.

5 years experience in sourcing

Fluent in English

Experience in sourcing, procurement, and supplier relationship management

Experience in Vendor Management and contract management.

Excellent communication skills written and spoken, as position requires daily communication with senior executives

Demonstrated ability to communicate contractual issues

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio)

Strong data analysis skills

Strong negotiation skills

Strong capacity to understand and analyze industrial processes and cost breakdown

Strong organization skills and attention to detail

Experience in cables, wireless and/or telecommunications is a plus

Team oriented mindset

Technical knowledge in metal sheet work, machining, castings is a plus

Basic understanding of 6-sigma and Lean principles
