BASIC REQUIREMENTS
* BS Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Applied Engineering from an accredited institution.
* Minimum of five years' experience within a manufacturing environment.
* Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
* This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Master's degree.
* Experience in the investment casting industry a plus.
* Strong leadership skills that foster an engaged employee environment.
* Previous experience with change management.
* Able to drive improvement through the implementation of the lean manufacturing principles, total quality practices, Six Sigma.
* Demonstrated results in leading manufacturing excellence.
* A strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes.
* Strong analytical, problem solving, communication, interpersonal, organizational and negotiation skills.
* Strong financial literacy.
* Experience with tooling, molds and dies relating to the Investment Casting, Injection Molding, or Stamping Industries is preferred.
* Strong mechanical aptitude.
Our state-of-the-art investment casting facility in La Porte, Indiana is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. Nestled halfway between South Bend and Chicago, our facility in La Porte, Indiana supplies jet engine components to some of the most trusted names in the Aerospace industry. This position will apply Lean Manufacturing and other continuous improvement initiatives while leading a large segment of our manufacturing process.
Job Responsibilities include:
* Prioritize, guide, and facilitate the activities of the manufacturing function to meet organizational goals, initiatives and requirements.
* Oversee the development of standard policies, procedures and practices to ensure customer requirements are embodied in manufacturing processes.
* Establish and maintain uniform manufacturing performance metrics and reporting systems.
* Reaffirm existing production goals, or establish new goals, and lead the group effort to achieve those goals.
* Ensure operations metrics are well-known and track daily progress toward achieving objectives.
* Lead cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives for safety, on-time delivery, production efficiency, and scrap reduction.
* Develop the capabilities of those in the department through teaching, coaching, establishing high standards, and ensuring accountability.
* Exhibit and promote an attitude on the plant floor that leads to an engaged and energized workforce.
* Drive improvements by developing and implementing systems and procedures based on data analysis.
* Utilize best practice methodologies and develop new technologies.
* Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Expected to assist in the implementation of EHS Values and policy statements and accompanying principals.
