Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob DescriptionReview requests for quotes (RFQ) and prepare detailed estimate sheets including time standards, material specifications, outside vendor services, associated costs, tooling, and any notes or exceptions to the RFQ.Maintain and develop inside sales relationships with customers to maximize sales potential through proactive quote follow-up to improve sales.Responsible for process engineering functions which include preparation of all necessary information required to run any job including master files, blueprints, specifying material, any outside service vendors, tooling requirements, accurate machine standards, clarification of any notes or exceptions, and all necessary customer contact required to complete the job.Participate in continuous improvement events and use Lean manufacturing techniques to make processes more efficient. Develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing methods on new and existing products.Revise methods suggested by new equipment, process changes, and special requirements.Make recommendations to improve manufacturing methods for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency.Create a work order establishing the initial job schedule and consult with manufacturing to develop accurate lead time and shipping schedules.Handle order entry and maintenance of customer record files in accordance with established policies and procedures.Calculate materials for new orders and review material certifications, passing them to Quality Control if acceptable.Perform related duties as assigned, within the scope of the Engineering/Purchasing Department.ResponsibilitiesReview RFQs and prepare detailed estimate sheets.Maintain and develop inside sales relationships with customers.Prepare all necessary information required to run any job including master files, blueprints, and specifying material.Use Lean manufacturing techniques to improve processes.Develop and implement cost-effective manufacturing methods.Revise methods based on new equipment and process changes.Recommend improvements for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency.Create work orders and develop accurate lead time and shipping schedules.Handle order entry and maintenance of customer record files.Calculate materials for new orders and review material certifications.Perform related duties within the Engineering/Purchasing Department.Essential SkillsExperience with machining, including lathe and mills.Knowledge of CNC machines.Experience with SolidWorks.Experience with AutoCAD.2+ years in a manufacturing environment.Understanding of the manufacturing process and engineering.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in a manufacturing environment.Experience with purchasing.Work EnvironmentWork in a newly updated, very clean facility.
