Job DescriptionManufacturing EngineerWhippany Actuation Systems is a dynamic aerospace company that designs and manufactures electromechanical actuators and control electronics for commercial and military applications. We are a fully integrated manufacturing company that takes responsibility for the success of our business and acts quickly to implement new ideas and projects to ensure company growth.We are looking for an aggressively forward-thinking and passionate Manufacturing Engineer to join a team dedicated and committed to implementing world-class manufacturing methods and processes, including collaborative robotics, unattended machining, and custom design solutions.In this role, you will typically:
- Design, and develop manufacturing methods and tooling;
- Implement manufacturing and process automation including robotics;
- Participate in a critical role during concurrent engineering efforts for new product introduction
- Lead lean initiatives including effective utilization of Six Sigma tools;
- Provide definition for capital investments related to manufacturing process improvements and automation;
- Provide manufacturing process support to production areas acting as the technical representative and the design engineering liaison;
- Effectively analyze product and process designs for the purpose of waste elimination, continuous improvement, and productivity initiatives;
- Ensure that all manufacturing processes meet or exceed site environmental health and safety guidelines
We require:
- A bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or college;
- One year of experience in a manufacturing environment which includes interpreting blueprints and familiarity with GD T;
- Previous experience with CAD systems;
- Authorization to work in the US
Eligibility Requirements:This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Whippany Actuation Systems will require proof of status before employment.We would really like to see:
- Previous experience working in a production environment with electro-mechanical assemblies;
- Proficiency with CREO and Microsoft Office Suite including Excel;
- An analytical problem solver who can identify root causes and provide corrective solutions;
- A customer-focused change agent with a demonstrated sense of urgency;
- A focus on self-development and continuous learning;
- Effective verbal and written communication skills;
- A team player who can also work independently with minimum supervision
