Manufacturing Engineer - NOV : Job Details

Job DescriptionThis position is located in Giddings, TX, and plays an integral role in the performance of mechanical or process engineering functions for all areas of engineering and manufacturing, while maintaining all Quality and Safety measures.PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists production activities in the production facility.
• Process flow and analysis.
• Work on equipment improvements and projects including troubleshooting, design, and optimization.
• Production methods for new or modified products.
• Design and enhancement of tools, molds, jigs and fixtures.
• Design, build, and monitor product test equipment.
• Coordinate equipment reliability issues with maintenance.
• Utilize safe work habits.
• Wear appropriate PPE
• Comply with all NOV Company policies, guidelines, and procedures
• Comply with all HSE policies, guidelines, and procedures
• Comply with all Quality policies, guidelines, and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Factory environment with a large range in temperature changes
• Standing up to 12 hours daily
• Walking up to 12 hours daily
• Travel less than 10%, as required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Graduate Degree or professional certification a plus.
• Ability to use hand tools correctly and safely.
• Ability to adapt and be cross trained to learn all job duties as required.
• Ability to learn technical repair and assembly guidelines and procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read drawings, instructions, or repair and assembly operations.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

• Utilize CAD software.
• Project management abilities.
• Basic financial understanding; ability to prepare cost/benefit analysis and cost justification.
