MANUFACTURING ENGINEER - Manufacturing - GPAC : Job Details

Job DescriptionWe are currently working with a piston manufacturing company in Barry County, MI that is looking to fill the position of Manufacturing Engineer. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods following product specifications and quality standards. They will recommend and implement improvements to production processes, procedures, and controls. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 1. Assist the Production department on all equipment and process issues. 2. Support new product launches on equipment builds, AQPD, and equipment validation. 3. Develop equipment and processes for new products. 4. Lead and facilitate CI, improve OEE and process CPK. 5. Provide appropriate support to ensure activities of the department are compliant with all applicable OSHA and TS requirements. Education, Skills & Experience Required: 1. Prior engine competent experience is a plus. 2. Proficiency in MS Office, Project Management, 2D & 3D CAM 3. Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field plus MS or MBA 4. Minimum of 10 - 15 years' experience in the process and industrial automation and controls industry. 5. Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Knowledge - Required a. Industrial Automation and Process Controls. b. Familiar with PLC Programming c. Process/Value Stream Mapping d. Lean Background and/or TPD knowledge e. Creating and writing custom machine specifications f. Process flowcharting, FMEAs, control plans Knowledge - Preferred a. CNC or CAD/CAM programming, familiar with Fanuc CNC programming b. Process monitoring and control & data collection (Dashboard) c. Knowledge of CNC machinery d. Knowledge of Plasma Spray molybdenum No sponsorships. At a minimum, must hold a Permanent Resident Card. This is an on-site position.
