Job Description :
The Tesla Manufacturing team is seeking a Manufacturing Equipment Engineer to troubleshoot, develop, and optimize equipment, fixtures, and end-of-arm tooling for production. Based at our Lathrop facility, this role ensures the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of equipment used in Production. The engineer will work with cross-functional teams, manage tooling designs, train technicians, and drive initiatives to maximize overall equipment effectiveness and manufacturing efficiency.Responsibilities
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for equipment, troubleshooting issues related to yield, quality, downtime, and safety
  • Manage equipment projects from concept to production, including design, validation, and ramp-up
  • Design and upgrade tooling, fixtures, and machine stations using SolidWorks, GD&T, and FEA/CFD analyses
  • Define requirements for outsourced tooling, collaborate with vendors, and establish Tesla standards
  • Use tools like Minitab/JMP for data analysis to improve processes and performance.
  • Partner with Design, Operations, Safety, Quality, and Process Engineering teams to achieve production goals
  • Train technicians on maintenance procedures and downtime recovery best practices
Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in mechanical/electrical systems and custom machine-building
  • Expertise in SolidWorks, automation systems, PLCs, robotics, and electromechanical components
  • Familiarity with DFM, OEE, process validation, welding, CNC, and pneumatic systems
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Passionate about optimizing manufacturing equipment and processes, and be hands-on in manufacturing environment

      • Associate Manufacturing Equipment Engineer - $68,000 - $102,000/annual salary
      • Manufacturing Equipment Engineer - $81,600 - $122,400/annual salary
      • Sr Manufacturing Equipment Engineer - $95,200 - $142,800/annual salary
      + cash and stock awards + benefitsPay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
