If you are a MANUFACTURING professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in SOUTHAVEN, MS, this position is responsible for managing the day-to-day workflow and production output for the Memphis distribution center. This position establishes standards, compliance, scheduling, staffing, and auditing activities to meet customer and company objectives of improved customer service and productivity. Quality and delivery performance will be evaluated against the work produced. Continuous improvement of current processes and the ability to enact change will be critical to achieving success.

AS A MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS MANAGER, YOU WILL:

* Provide guidance, support, direction, and leadership through positive interactions with all personnel during daily operations.

* Direct and assign work to meet daily production/shipping requirements through proper staff utilization for production output and flow of work.

* Assist in the training and instruction of employees to perform work assignments in a safe, proper, and efficient manner, while reinforcing correct safety habits within work groups.

* Handle all scheduling, personnel paperwork, and timecards.

* Control labor and material usage to meet or improve standard costs.

* Maintain good employee relations through counseling and proper application of employee relations policies.

* Recommend improvements in job methods and processes.

* Ensure the department meets lean manufacturing and continuous improvement goals.

* Supervise and maintain efficiency and productivity using the current data collection system.

* Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels, and coordinating with internal and external organizations, as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

* Bachelor's degree in business production, operation management, or a related field (10 years of manufacturing experience will be considered in lieu of education)

* A minimum of five (5) years of experience managing teams in a manufacturing, operations, or distribution setting

* Having a firm grasp of manufacturing and production concepts (productivity and quality)

* The ability to get results in a collaborative setting

* The ability to monitor production metrics

* Respond to and resolve problems related to the layout of equipment and flow of materials.

* Excellent oral and written communication skills

* Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills

* Must be comfortable navigating a computer, including using Microsoft Office applications

* Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this role will not be provided

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

* Experience and/or training in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma

* Experience with ERP systems, ideally JDE or Oracle

* Experience using Kronos

* High degree of business insight as it relates to vendors or other individuals outside the organization
