Position Summary : Manufacturing Process Engineer will be responsible for driving value added analysis to identify and improve manufacturing process efficiencies. This role will drive process procedures for the entirety of the machining department including large CNC mills and Multi Axis CNC machining centers. Level I: Quality - Complete and accurate work performed efficiently Production quality and efficiency using appropriate tools and equipment, qualified to perform special processes as needed
Working from drawings, specifications, manuals, codes, etc., Investigates special Machining instructions to conform to Quality Assurance requirements Develop and document detailed production process plans for metal component manufacturing.
Participate in design reviews and manufacturing hand-off meetings to provide feedback relating to design for manufacturing. Review all internal and customer design documentation to ensure all design and quality requirements can be met. Develop, document, and maintain detailed process plans, including internal and external operation sequence, selection of appropriate manufacturing methods and machines, estimation of setup and run times. Load and maintain standard part routings and work instructions in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Design work holding fixtures for CNC machining operations to ensure design tolerances can be met, and to minimize machine setup times.
Develop work holding concepts. Create complete and detailed fixture designs including 3D models and machining drawings. Define efficient tool path's and cutting speeds and feeds for CNC machining of exotic and difficult to machine materials. Program all CNC machining operations (lathe and mill) Support machinists and supervisors throughout the manufacturing process to ensure timely and successful component production.
Monitor part production for assigned parts to ensure manufacturing success. Maintain open dialogue with machinist and production supervisors, and incorporate improvements to production processes, CNC programs, and documentation as needed to resolve problems and improve manufacturing efficiency and part quality. Lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve manufacturing problems, and provide direction and training to machinists when necessary to improve manufacturing effectiveness. Support machinists and supervisors throughout the manufacturing process to ensure timely and successful component production.

- Associate's Degree in Manufacturing or engineering
Experience:
- Ten years of manufacturing experience in a CNC machining environment.
- Five years of direct CNC programming experience for lathes and mills with advanced 3D CAM software.
- Experience with common CNC controls (Fanuc, Mazatrol, Okuma, Siemens, etc.) with thorough understanding of M&G machine code.
- Experience reading engineering drawings, including a solid understanding of common geometric dimensioning and tolerancing practices .
