Job Description :

The main function of a project engineer is to work on foundry New Capital Introduction (NCI) projects. Focus on new asset procurement planning, asset demolition and installation, and Put in Service (PIS). Perform sand reclamation studies and propose solutions. A typical project engineer has knowledge of engineering technology, facility engineering, building and construction experience. They must have solid decision making skills and be a critical thinker.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for asset/structure demolition and installation. Focus on project planning and communication with each party in the project scope. Analyze and evaluate the impacts and communicate in time.
  • Review the cost effectiveness, timing, reliability and safety of certain design models to determine project feasibility and approve final design implementation plan.
  • Manage and direct suppliers' staff members at project site.

Typical task breakdown:

  • Follow NCI (New Capital Introduction) Process Flow / Gate Reviews.
  • Collaborate with customer groups, Facilities / Maintenance, Manufacturing Operations, Engineering, EHS, accounting and purchasing are involved in the approval process.
  • Be responsible to achieve desired outputs on multiple concurrent individual and team projects.
  • Develop plans for facilities projects, prepare and establish priorities for cost effectiveness, manage budgeting and purchasing matters pertaining to these projects.
  • Work with Internal / External Suppliers to plan & implement facility wide projects to assure efficient and cost-effective systems and processes to produce quality products.
  • Coordinate compatibility of existing and new assets and/or systems.
  • Provide direction and guidance to other project owners to assure the most efficient and sustainable effect on the facility.
  • Ensure implementation of modern technology and verify the effectiveness related to facility processes modifications.

Interaction with team:

  • Interactions with daily in person meetings with peers and suppliers.
  • This is a very much team role as it has dependencies tied with a wide group of stake holders from Advance Planning, Current Manufacturing and Operation, Facility Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality and Safety.

Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial
  • Foundry experience (Operation and Manufacturing) (min 10 years)
  • Project management and leadership experience (min 10 years)
  • Sand reclamation project and experience (min 10 years)

Technical Skills

(Required)

  • Full time work experience of minimum of 10+ years in USA foundry manufacturing and operation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service focus
  • Product knowledge of engine block casting and machining processes,
  • Project Management, Negotiating skills, Analytical Thinking.
  • Experience in should cost modeling, supply chain planning, supplier audits for Assembly, Test and Paint.
  • Conduct feasibility meetings.
  • Good knowledge of Windows Office 365 applications - excel, advanced excel, PPT, Word etc.
  • Previous experience with process improvement, layouts, flow, PPAP, and Advanced Manufacturing process
  • Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures, especially those with supplier impact
