Roles and Responsibilities:
About the Role:
The Quality Engineer ensures the integrity of products and services by implementing quality assurance protocols that meet customer needs, business objectives, government regulations, and industry standards. This role includes managing quality systems, addressing non-conformances, auditing suppliers, and resolving customer quality complaints. The engineer also collaborates across functional areas to enhance quality systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate customer quality complaint resolutions, including root cause investigations.
- Evaluate Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) from manufacturing plants to ensure robustness and customer satisfaction.
- Review and customize 8D reports from manufacturing plants for customer distribution, including language localization if needed.
- Implement Quality Management System (QMS) improvement requests from customers in collaboration with manufacturing plants.
- Work with Corporate EHS and Legal teams to provide regulatory compliance declarations (e.g., EICC, RoHS, REACH, EPA) to customers.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and quality assurance tests to ensure compliance with product specifications and standards.
- Analyze defects, trends, and measurement data to drive continuous improvement.
- Support supplier quality by conducting audits, inspections, and monitoring performance metrics.
- Develop, maintain, and audit quality management systems and protocols, including process automation and documentation.
- Investigate and report on customer complaints, ensuring effective resolution and compliance.
- Obtain and maintain necessary quality certifications and licenses (e.g., ISO, CE) to support market release of new products.
- Lead preparation for audits and inspections, and resolve findings effectively.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree required; Engineering discipline preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years in Quality, Process, or Manufacturing Engineering roles.
- Proficient in Statistical Process Control (SPC), including validating control charts and interpreting results for process improvements.
- Expertise in statistical tools (e.g., SPC, MSA, Pareto, ANOVA) and quality methodologies (e.g., FMEA, Cause and Effect Diagrams, 8D).
- Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory compliance requirements.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in programming and troubleshooting inspection equipment.
- Ability to perform calibration maintenance and analyze results for measurement standards.
- Knowledge of international quality certifications and standards.
