- Conduct daily meetings.
- Assign presses to operators per priority list.
- Monitor utilization making sure presses are running and investigating when they aren't.
- Follow up on known problems with personnel, piece parts, and equipment.
- Ensure personnel remain gainfully at work.
- Completing performance evaluations, continual coaching, and recognition of employees.
- Addressing complaints, resolving problems, and disciplinary discussions.
- Monitor break times.
- Assure proper line clearance has taken place.
- Monitor efficiencies. Investigate when product is out of range and take appropriate action.
- Monitor scrap and production problems and take appropriate action.
- Write deviation or Work Around Plan for anything that is running outside specified parameters.
- Responsible for rework.
- Collaborate with appropriate personnel (engineers, QC, managers, etc.) to resolve issues.
- Verify process for all new set-ups and ensure that all set-ups meet the prescribed standards.
- Spot check process cards to the master cycle card.
- Ensure last shot and appropriate information is turned in when molds are pulled.
- Support, follow and uphold departmental and company policies and procedures and ensure training and compliance with all team members.
- Ensure employees are properly instructed and trained on the expectations of each job.
- Ensure all personnel are following procedures.
- Investigate all rejects produced on the shift and document initial disposition.
- Write needed work orders.
- Responsible for accuracy of all reported labor, production, scrap, and material.
- Responsible for the quality of all products produced on the shift.
- Make sure the proper equipment is available.
- Maintain employee records (absentee sheets, overtime lists, etc.)
- Complete all required reports in a timely manner.
- Communicate with QC and supervisor with the outgoing, current, and incoming shifts.
- Follow all safety rules, procedures, and preventative measures and making sure all team members are.
- Follow all Six S requirements.
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
- Supervisory experience, preferably in a Manufacturing setting.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating an maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Able to create routine reports and correspondence.
- Attention to detail.
- Basic math aptitude and the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in various units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals and the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Draw and interpret graphs.
- Able to lifts objects up to 50 pounds by hand with or without an accommodation.
- Ability to read, analyze, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in written, diagram, or schedule format.
- Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees withing and outside of the organization with differing communication styles.
- Competence in solving practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Effective and understandable professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge to navigate through and input data into computer software programs.
