Title: Lab Operator (I, II or III)

Location: Austin, TX

Shift: Two Teams: Alpha and Bravo

6 Month+ contract, potential Temp to Perm Hire

First day is remote training via Zoom - must be done on a computer

Alpha Day

Sun, Mon, Tues 12.5 hours / 5am - 5:30pm

Wed 6.5 hours / 11am - 5:30 pm

Alpha Night

Sun, Mon, Tues 12.5 hours / 5pm - 5:30am

Wed 6.5 hours / 11pm - 5:30am

Bravo Day

Wed 6.5 hours / 5am - 11:30am

Thurs, Fri, Sat 12.5 hours / 5am - 5:30pm

Bravo Night

Wed 6.5 hours / 5pm - 11:30pm

Thurs, Fri, Sat 12.5 hours / 5pm - 5:30am

What is the pay rate?

Lab Op - $20.00/hour

What does the role require?

A Lab Operator is responsible for ensuring that protocols/experiments are running smoothly in the lab and that in the case any troubleshooting is required, they are able to communicate with the required persons to have issues resolved.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

Comfortable working in a fast-paced production, fulfillment, or manufacturing environments with defined success metrics and goals for teams and individuals

Ability to follow detailed written instruction required to successfully run stated protocols with minimal supervision

Keen attention to detail, highly organized, and diligent

Understands and follows all company and site-specific policies and procedures.

Willing to participate in continuous improvement and operation exercises

Strong computer skills and not intimidated to learn new systems.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to handle and maneuver small components and parts

Comply with all lab safety guidelines and use appropriate safety and protected devices when performing duties in the lab

Ability to work flexible shifts/hours, as well as overtime as needed, which requires standing on lab floor for the duration of a work shift not including breaks.

Lifting and handling of materials used for experiments will be required, not to exceed OSHA guidelines

Preferred Skills & Experience:

1 - 3 years of experience working in either a laboratory environment or regulated manufacturing industry (Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Biotechnology, Automotive, etc.)

Experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practices/Good Laboratory Practices (GMP/GLP) environment

Work Environment:

The laboratory operator role involves working with specific laboratory instruments that pose magnetic hazards, which may affect individuals with certain medical conditions or those who have implanted metal devices.
