Marine Upholsterer Department: FinishReports to: Finish Manager Location: Bremerton FSLA Status: Non- ExemptShift: Days 5:00 am - 3 :30 pm M-Th Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 with Sewing machine experience $28.00 - $30.00 with actual Upholstery experience JOB SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, responsible for performing all marine Upholstery operations. Will assist in department/workstation set up, tool acquisition and maintenance. Works with multiple departments to ensure efficiencies in scheduling, pricing, quality, design and customer support. Troubleshoots and solves construction problems in coordination with supervisor. Excellent communicator with verbal and written direction. BENEFITS!

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with department/workstation set up, tool acquisition, and maintenance.
- Sets a good example for their department in consistently achieving safety and quality standards.
- Will assist and/or monitor order forms and accurately input inventory takes.
- Able to understand and interpret requirements (measurements and sizing) to ensure fit and function
- Referencing technical specifications, measurements, and drawings, creates patterns for foam and fabric
- Makes entries in and maintains manufacturing paperwork and/or electronic database for applicable Hull numbers
- Cuts, forms, and sews fabric accurately and with minimal product waste
- Safely operates a variety of machines and equipment including cutting tables, sewing machines, laminators and more
- Produces quality work to high quality standards, ensuring durability and longevity
- Inspects materials prior to use to ensure they meet the specifications of the customer and project in size, color, and type
- Creatively problem solves challenges in quality, form, and fit- suggests alternatives to improve quality, reduce costs, and ensure work is completed efficiently and on time
- Communicates regularly with internal customers on deliverables
- Utilizes available time to maintain highest productivity level ensuring priority requirements are always met
- Additional responsibilities may include supporting work with/for Floatation systems, and Finish tasks (Stage 1-4) and miscellaneous related work orders.
- Other duties as assigned may include additional production work on request

Required Experience & Education:
- High School Diploma (GED/High School Equivalence Certificate)
- 3 years' experience working in the Marine Upholstery or a similar field
- 3 years' experience sewing complex patterns using a variety of industrial types of materials
Physical Requirements:
- Able to Lift up to 40 lbs.
- Grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Bend, stoop, squat and stretch to complete tasks
- Able to successfully operate equipment such as sewing machines for long periods of time safely and successfully
- Position requires use of computer, telephones, and other office equipment, reading, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
