General Summary

The Market Sales Lead (MSL) will provide area support for the retail customer, business continuity and field sales execution team. The MSL will drive retail engagement and Independent Distribution Partner (IDP) partnership while being able to troubleshoot and own the resolution of front-line issues. Their primary focus will be retail engagement and the identification of incremental volume opportunities at retailer level to deliver our sales objectives.

Selling
  • Follow pre-determined schedule of in-store visits to assigned retail partners (both in terms of visit frequency and sequence). The number of visits may vary based on current promotions and store managers' schedules.
  • Based on customer sales plan (including upcoming promotions, events, etc.), sell and write orders for Company products to assigned stores; sell secondary displays, space, and product racks.
  • Develop relationship with store manager or designee to identify store needs and opportunities for additional permanent space.
  • Ensure proper execution of sales planograms, shelf tags, and POS at store level (e.g., marketing, displays, holiday/event promotion).
  • Draw conclusions and determine key insights from available data that may help grow sales, market share, and in-store space allocation for assigned accounts.
  • Leverage strong customer service and sales skills to handle sales calls, customer complaints, etc.
  • Provide additional ordering support on assigned retail partner stores as scheduled/needed.
  • Other Sales Duties
  • Fulfill merchandising needs of retail partners by stocking and maintaining shelves of products and building promotional displays according to merchandising principles.
  • Ensure shelves are full and stocked according to retail partners' planograms.
  • Ensure freshness of products by rotating product, and removing out-of-code and damaged product from retail partners' shelves.
  • Maintain and increase shelf facings, clean shelves, and rotate products.
  • Set shelves and displays according to retail partners' and Campbell specified plans.
  • Check product pricing and report any inaccuracies to management.
  • Operate equipment for moving products (e.g., pushing/pulling of the U-Boat, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.).
  • Perform other job-related assignments, duties, or projects as directed by management.
  • Practice and adhere to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines and procedures for safe housekeeping, vehicle operation, and personal protection.
  • Communication/Team Collaboration
  • Inform sales management about field activity such as market conditions, availability and condition of merchandise, and competitor activities.
  • Coordinate/communicate with other team members on merchandising and delivery needs or issues.
  • Maximize on-shelf opportunities by communicating product orders, upcoming promotions, and innovations with store decision maker.
  • Ensure all in-store activity is reported through digital platforms/applications.
  • Administration
  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance while being flexible in your work schedule (this includes being available to work weekends and holidays when needed).
  • Submit and maintain proper customer records, sales, activities and other required reports and forms.
  • Appropriately maintain company car and other company equipment in accordance with company policies.
  • Be of service to support in-store team members as necessary.
  • Attend trainings and other meetings as directed by management.

  • Job Specifications
  • B.A. required.
  • 1-3 years of related sales or Consumer Packaged Goods experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft skills including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Working Conditions
  • Travel as needed, both local and overnight.
  • Must be able to relocate as required.

  • Must be able to travel within district, to company meetings, company training and other regions as business needs demand.
  • Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is required to drive to stores, warehouses and hubs within the market on a consistent basis.

    Compensation And Benefits

    The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between $0-$0. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
