Are you an experienced content strategy consultant who is passionate about storytelling? Are you seeking a fast-paced environment on dynamic team where you can contribute to an overarching content strategy to help transform our customer experience? Caterpillar's Oil & Gas and Marine Division marketing team is seeking a highly strategic and entrepreneurial Marketing Communication Consultant to lead content strategy across our marketing programs located in Houston, Texas. The ideal candidate has experience digging into data to discover pain points and developing content strategies to resolve identified problems. This person must have deep expertise in content creation and will deliver on complex projects on tight deadlines and work comfortably in an environment with competing priorities.
What You Will Do:
* Develop and manage a content strategy for our Oil & Gas and Marine divisions (including all segments) while overseeing the execution of all written marketing content including blogs, white papers, case studies, podcast, press releases and more.
* Manage an efficient content workflow and editorial calendar, prioritize the content pipeline and collaborate with editors, writers and other team members to ensure timely production.
* Collaborate with SMEs and product marketing teams to understand desired client actions, formulating content plans and working with internal and external writers to execute.
* Maintain consistency in content production by developing a key messages and value propositions, following brand voice guidelines, style guides, accessibility guidelines, and related templates.
Top Candidates Will Have:
* Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent in Literature, Journalism, Technical Communications, Information Sciences, or related discipline or the equivalent experience.
* Five plus years of relevant content experience

Promotion and Marketing Communications: Knowledge of different promotional and marketing communication techniques; ability to use different marketing channels and tools in combination to focus on how a business communicates a message to the market.

* Assists in the development of written content marketing materials.
* Assesses alternative delivery mechanisms for promotional and marketing communications.

Vendor/Supplier Management: Knowledge of external provider management processes and ability to effectively manage the business relationship with external providers (e.g. vendors, service providers, contractors, consultants and suppliers).

* Works with vendors to assure written content is delivered to time and quality specifications.
* Provides feedback on vendor performance to responsible contract administrators.
* Resolves routine issues or problems with vendors in organization's best interest.
* Identifies communications bottlenecks and recommends appropriate solutions.
* Builds effective working relationships with counterparts in vendor or supplier's organization.
Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

* Relocation to Houston, Texas is offered.

Summary Pay Range:
$95,640.00 - $143,520.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
