Pay 15

Reports To: Global VP, Operations

Salary: $90,000-$115,000/yr. (commensurate with experience)

Job Summary

The Marketing Operations & Communications Manager is a key member of the Compass / RA Citadel account team with responsibility for managing the onsite events and marketing activities, partnering with operations to grow engagement and enthusiasm for our activities. We are looking for an outgoing marketing expert who is passionate about building a programming calendar that supports Citadels employee engagement strategy. This individual will create our programming, marketing, communications and promotions strategy.

The role will lead marketing initiative development and implementation in all North American locations and liaise with a range of other internal sectors including Wolfgang Puck Catering, Union Square Events, Canteen and Eurest. In the future, this individual may be required to share and collaborate with marketing and operations teams in global regions where we provide food services to Citadel.

The role reports directly to Compass Global VP Operations for Citadel and will be based in NYC and is a full-time and 5-day, on-site position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and implementing programming initiatives across multiple sites, with corresponding marketing and communications campaigns to spread the word
  • Develops and directs partnerships including but not limited to, external restaurant partnerships, celebrity chef promotions and external pop-up activations
  • Leads event planning and activation efforts by coordinating with multiple teams, including managers and culinary leads across all locations
  • Oversees the end-to-end process, from conceptualization and decor to setup and flawless execution.
  • Ensures all managers and culinary leads across locations are aligned on goals and expectations for activations and events, driving seamless execution and shared success.
  • Oversees the development of weekly menu signage packages and coordination of approvals
  • Demonstrates a strong background in retail, with experience in designing and setting up visually compelling displays, tablescapes, or other decor elements. Leverages these skills to enhance marketing activations by creating engaging, on-brand environments that capture attention, reinforce messaging, and elevate the overall guest experience.
  • Partners with operations, Compass marketing resources, Citadel marketing resources, to deliver a marketing strategy that aligns with Citadel business and marketing goals, builds our program and drives client/guest engagement.
  • Drives development and directs results-oriented marketing planning across NAM locations in line with agreed annual marketing plans with Citadel.
  • Develops success metrics and reporting mechanisms for marketing plans and initiatives
  • Stays appraised of food service and associated trends and characteristics of core customer groups, presents at least quarterly on important consumer and workplace trends and makes frequent recommendations on initiatives and changes.
  • Participates in Compass / RA marketing planning and development meetings and leverages wide resources in Compass for the benefit of Citadel food services
  • Handles design resources as appropriate to support program implementation
  • Actively supports client reporting through monthly, quarterly and annual business reviews to tell the story of the partnership, initiatives and outcomes
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in relevant business discipline
  • Minimum three years event management, communications, or employee engagement strategy experience required
  • A strategic thinker and highly organized with ability to prepare and manage budgets
  • Corporate food service, restaurant, fast casual food marketing experience a plus
  • Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task, keen eye for detail
  • Excellent oral and written communicator with strong technical aptitude who remains abreast of market business trends
  • Self-starter with outstanding leadership and planning skills
  • Budget management experience required
  • NYC based. Must be willing to travel occasionally as needed within US.
  • Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Canva, Adobe, Illustrator and other relevant design software.
