The Atlanta Braves Trainee Program is designed for applicants who are interested in beginning a career in professional sports. Trainees will work full-time from January 2025 through November 2025. Applicants are encouraged to visit braves.com/trainee for more information prior to applying.

The Mascot Trainee will assist the Senior Director, Entertainment & Events and Mascot Manager to ensure the Braves brand is properly utilized in creating ballpark and marketplace experiences while following the company's values. Entertainment & Events includes all brand activations at Truist Park, The Battery Atlanta, and across Braves country.

The Entertainment & Events Department provides a quality and interactive entertainment experience that creates a unique Braves Baseball atmosphere. Our goal is to enhance the overall Fan Experience, thus drawing more guests to Truist Park and generate a desire to return. We also support the organization's goals by producing first-class special events throughout the year.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

* Manage outside appearance requests & calendar.

* Perform as the secondary Braves mascot at games, assigned events, and school shows.

* Maintain order, stock, and cleanliness of Mascot green rooms and storage areas.

* Assist in the creation of social media content.

* Assist in the creation of mascot skits for gamedays.

* Assist in the creation of props/costumes/etc.

* Assist in suit maintenance and cleaning

* Assist in managing teams for games and appearances

* Assist in activating/performing/hosting Blooper's School Show

* Oversee scheduling of mascot staff.

* Assign daily roles for the mascot staff.

* Assist with the planning and execution of Braves events as assigned.

* Liaison with Community Affairs, Marketing, Corporate Partnerships, Event Operations and other departments on assigned events.

* Track and report revenue from appearances and programs.

* Provide excellent customer service with clients and fans.

* Other roles as assigned.

TRAINEE PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:

* College graduate, Bachelor's or Master's, with a GPA of at least 3.0 at graduation

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Ability to work effectively and relate well with individuals of diverse backgrounds and within all levels of the company

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

* Customer service oriented

* Excellent executive presence

* Ability to work long hours, weekends, and holidays

* Must complete a background check

ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

* Experience in mascot performance, preferably in a sports, entertainment, or hospitality setting

* Physically able to perform as a mascot for extended periods of time.

* Possess highly creative skills, able to contribute to a brainstorming environment

* Excellent interpersonal communication skills

* Strong work ethic, dedication, and reliability

* Physically capable of standing for long periods of time

* Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds

* Ability to work in various outdoor conditions including extreme temperatures & rain

* Reliable transportation and driving proficiency. A valid driver's license is required.

* Master's degree preferred

* Possess a good business acumen with office and administrative experience, including: computing skills (Microsoft Office), verbal communication, organization, and appropriate attire.
