ResourceTek, a leader in technical support services, is currently seeking a Master Production Scheduler for our client, a manufacturer of automotive and appliance parts. We are looking for candidates with 5+ years of planning and execution of production schedules. This is a direct hire opportunity near Dickson, TN.
Job Summary:
The Master Production Scheduler is responsible for developing the master production plan to satisfy customer demand while carrying minimum effective inventory. The qualified individual will be responsible for providing the plant with a weekly production plan consistent with the plant capacity and sales forecast.
The sales forecasts, new business opportunities, customer expectations, and internal supply constraints will be used to develop production plans, by week, for a rolling two-week period. Strong collaboration with the Business Managers, Operations, Sales, Customer Service and Management will be critical to meeting business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Develop Master Production Schedule in IQMS to prepare requirements for purchased and manufactured parts
- Assist in development of inventory targets and schedule production to achieve targeted inventory levels
- Maintain inventory at target levels to ensure high service levels, i.e. product availability
- Coordinate and provide production schedule details to planners and production leads
- Review and assess customer provided EDI for errors and develop plans to support requirements
- Support new product launch and sample part build plans
- Document and address customer part requirement changes
- Verify that materials planners are utilizing correct data when forecasting raw materials
- Verification of raw material availability as part of the master production schedule
- Jointly chair the morning production meeting with the manufacturing team presenting Hot List to assist with work centers prioritization
- Monitor actual output versus the Master Production Plan. Identify gaps and drive solutions, including a metric on production performance to the requested production schedule
- Timely reporting of key metrics
- Support leadership by reviewing service levels, performance against schedule, inventory strategy, supply plan to meet demand, and resource implications
- Update Master Production Plan as necessary
Qualifications:
- 5 years of planning/scheduling experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Experience in managing manufacturing processes, productivity, and efficiency measurements
- Experience using MRP / ERP systems, IQMS experience a definite plus
- APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) or equivalent experience
- Proficient in MS office applications
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Strong problem solving and analysis skills
- Ability to manage complexity and resolve conflicts that arise from balancing multiple priorities
- Experience working within an IATF 16949 automotive supplier a definite plus
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed
