We are searching for a result-oriented Master Scheduler - Manufacturing to join our GAL team at Vantage Elevation. The Master Scheduler is a critical role in the manufacturing environment, responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining the production schedules to ensure efficient utilization of resources, on-time delivery, and alignment with customer demand. This position collaborates with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, logistics, and sales, to balance supply and demand while optimizing manufacturing processes. Requirements We are searching for a candidate with:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
- APICS Certification (CPIM or CSCP) preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or related roles in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Visual, etc) and production scheduling tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Metrics for Success:
- On-time delivery rate of customer orders.
- Schedule adherence and production efficiency (ex: on-time to release)
- Reduction in material shortages and excess inventory (DSO - Days Sales Outstanding)
- Improved capacity utilization and reduced production downtime (Level loading and equipment capacity resource planning)
Duties and Responsibilities A typical day may include: Production Scheduling:
- Create and maintain the master production schedule (MPS) based on customer orders, forecasted demand, and available capacity.
- Lead the Sales and Inventory Operational Plan (S&OP) Process by coordinating with cross functions teams in Sales, Operations & Material Management teams.
- Adjust schedules as needed to address changes in demand, material availability, or production delays.
Capacity Planning:
- Analyze production capacity and identify bottlenecks or constraints to ensure optimal workflow.
- Coordinate with operations to recommend solutions for capacity issues, including overtime, additional shifts, or outsourcing.
Material Coordination:
- Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure the timely availability of materials to meet production schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and minimize excess stock or shortages.
Cross-Functional Communication:
- Serve as a liaison between production, procurement, logistics, and sales to communicate schedule updates and address potential issues.
- Lead scheduling meetings to review progress, resolve conflicts, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Performance Monitoring:
- Track and report on key scheduling metrics, including on-time delivery, schedule adherence, and production efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance scheduling accuracy and efficiency.
Problem Resolution:
- Address scheduling conflicts and production delays by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Work proactively to mitigate risks to the schedule, such as equipment downtime or labor shortages.
