**Material Handler**

**1st Shift**

**New Bern, NC / Full-time**

BSH Service Parts USA, part of the Customer Service Division, is a vital support functions for our internationally sold products. The Service Parts organization is run as a cohesive team, drawing on the skills and talents of its workers for the benefit of the company and our customers.

As a Material Handler, you will be an integral part of our parts distribution process, working daily to achieve the targets and goals of the organization, and adding value to our customer experience, by loading, unloading, preparing and packaging materials in a warehouse management system.

**Responsibilities**

* Lift truck certification required. Operates standard industrial lift truck, tuggers, electrical and manual pallet jacks, battery charges, and other forms of material handling equipment on the distribution floor. Ability to learn and operate very narrow aisle forklifts (Swing Mast) and operate in a 7-level warehouse.

* Put up of incoming product as well as pulling of parts from warehouse and returning parts to warehouse.

* Packages parts using appropriate box building, tape and or staples, packing material and label material.

* Follows written or oral instructions to perform various duties.

* Conveys materials from storage to designated warehouse bin locations, including multi-level mezzanine locations.

* Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand without damaging, ensuring quality of parts.

* Lifts heavy objects by hand within specified limit or with handling equipment, responsible for the cleanliness of work area and equipment.

* Safely operates tools and follows all rules regarding Personal Protective Equipment.

* Interacts with SAP (narrow scope) when necessary.

* Loading and unloading of trailers and containers on the shipping/receiving dock.

* Maintain accurate time keeping for daily log sheets.

* Perform all other duties as assigned.

**Job Qualification Requirements:**

* High School Diploma

* Knowledge of warehouse management processes.

**Knowledge:**

**Experience:**

* Warehouse management and/or distribution floor experience in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

* Ability to organize, maintain and file documents.

* Inventory Control knowledge.

**Physical Requirements:**

* Walking, standing, climbing stairs and racks.

* Frequent Bending, kneeling, carrying, reaching, pushing, pulling and twisting.

* Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.

* Fingering, talking, hearing, visual acuity (near) and writing.

* Typing, Filing.

* Working at all levels of warehouse racks and mezzanine, up to 7 levels high.

* Ability to drive picker, scissor lift and warehouse equipment.

**Machines, Tools Equipment (Office and Industrial), Software:**

* Computers, SAP, Excel, Word

* Normal office machinery such as fax machines and copiers.

* Packaging machines, automatic baggers- loading, unloading, operating and replenishing.
