Weather Barr Windows and Doors is looking for a Material Handler to join the team!

3rd shift hours are 9:30 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. Sunday-Thursday Overtime as needed. Must train on 1st shift then transfer to 3rd shift.

Pay starting at $16.67 - $18.23 per hour. Hourly payrate includes Dependability Bonus and 4% shift differential.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the unloading, movement and labeling of all purchased parts from receiving into inventory. Movement of material may be by forklift, pallet jack or hand carrying inventory to storage on a second floor.
  • Responsible for the accurate counting, receiving, labeling, material inventories, and any other activities necessary to help ensure all materials are available when needed by production.
  • Responsible for emptying all large bins on the production floor. This includes but is not limited to: glass scrap bin, plastic scrap bin, large trash bins.
  • Responsible for the movement of large drums of silicone, butyl, and other chemicals used throughout the plant. Including the refill of mineral spirits used on the production line.
  • Responsible for operating the trash compactor, cardboard compactor and glass compactor.
  • Responsible for keeping all lines stocked with parts as needed.
  • Responsible for operating the riding sweeper and using the floor scrubber throughout the day to make sure the plant floors are free of debris. Material Handler may be asked to perform other cleaning duties as needed.
  • Responsible for gathering all empty bins on production floor, filling the empty bins, and returning them to the production floor.
  • Responsible for unloading all freight trucks.
  • Responsible for keeping the upstairs warehouse location clean and organized.
  • Assist Material Handlers I, II and III as needed.
  • Responsible for keeping the vinyl warehouse in an organized fashion
  • Weather stripping raw material for production.

Qualifications

  • Forklift Experience required

Preferred Skills

  • Working knowledge of inventory systems in a manufacturing environment, including computer systems like ERP, MRP.

  • Attention to detail. Must have ability to read and understand bills of lading and inventory documentation.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds and adherence to health and safety requirements.

Safety Responsibilities:

  • Eliminate or control unsafe conditions and unsafe work practices that you have the authority to control. Always use safety glasses, gloves, arm protection (if required), and hearing protection.
  • Immediately notify your Supervisor if you identify an unsafe condition or unsafe work practice that is beyond your authority or control and workplace injuries/illnesses to your Supervisor immediately.
  • Follow all safety and health instructions from management.
