Position summary: It is the responsibility of the Material Handler to keep the cutting lines supplied with the necessary raw materials, move finished production to the shipping docks, empty trash containers, and bale carpet scraps for recycling. Educational requirements: High school diploma or GED required Skills and experience: Previous manufacturing experience preferred Good communication skills, written and verbal Forklift experience preferred Meet license requirements for powered material handling equipment Essential duties: Transport boxed goods from the cutting lines to the loading dock. Transport carpet or raw materials within the plant as needed Deliver pallets to the the cutting lines. Deliver boxes to box maker at the cutting lines Assist with unloading box trailers5 Transport scrap from the cutting lines to the recycle area Operate carpet baler Haul all trash to the compactor. Provide back-up for Checker position Provide back-up for Manufacturing Process Facilitator Maintain housekeeping Comply with safety rules Comply with environmental regulations Be aware of departmental Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) Ensure ISO procedures are followed. Understand and support Interface commitment to sustainability. Perform other duties as assigned Physical demands: Lifting 50-60 pounds Occassional 10 hour shifts 20/20 corrected vision in both eyes Work environment: Non-climate controlled manufacturing environment.
