Our facility in Billerica, Massachusettsis located in the metropolitan Boston area and specializes in the designand manufacturing of advanced photonics products based on MEMS and other micro-scale optical devices. Our unique technology enables the highest system performance in the most compact and cost-effective formats in a variety of applications.

This site's Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) products are laser-based imaging tools that have transformed ophthalmic care and made notable impacts on patients in cardiology, dermatology, oncology, gastroenterology, and other medical specialties.

We are presently seeking Material Handler in our Billerica facility.

Your Responsibilities

• This person will work closely with area supervision, material buyer/planners, engineering, and operators;
• Ensures the efficient movement of materials required to meet production schedules;
• Identifies and tracks material shortages and uses the material shortage escalation process;
• Is responsible for inventory accuracy including material organization, material issuing, stocking materials, and cyclecounting material;
• Is responsible for all SAP material transactions within the power supply area, including the organization and filing of work orders;
• Interfaces with engineering, production, and purchasing personnel to coordinate material movements;
• Kits all power supply jobs based on work order pick lists;
• Resolves inventory related issues such as material variances;
• Complies with written procedures for all inventory and materials handling activities;
• Performs other related duties of a similar complexity as directed.

Your Requirements

• Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent;
• At least 5 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably with at least 1- 2 years of inventory control experience;
• Effectively communicates with and engages all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing;
• Excellent organizational skills;
• Ability to learn and adapt new material management techniques in order to improve material organization, inventory accuracy, reduce cycle times;
• Willingness to undergo continuous improvement training;
• Must be able to stand and walk for an 8 hour shift;
• Must be able to lift boxes weighing as much as 50 lbs.

This position requires the use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
