Position Summary: Support the material handling activities in Saddle Brook plant to obtain a safe, efficient, productive, and economical manufacturing operation. Primary functions will be to process and transport materials throughout the organization.
Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to): - Transport and load/unload materials in the warehouse and value stream(s) to and from pallets, bins, racks, shelves, etc.
- Pick parts for shipping and package according to shipping procedures. Complete appropriate paperwork needed to ship the material.
- Perform transactions in GLOVIA to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Use of pallet jacks, wave machine, forklifts and hand trucks to bring materials to the appropriate locations.
- Fill Kan-Ban bins on the value stream(s).
- Monitor stockroom accuracy and report discrepancies in quantities to supervisors.
Essential Qualifications / Experience: - Must be able to stand, bend, push, and reach for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift parts weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a basic reading/writing ability to read and interpret customer orders and shipping/trafficking requirements.
- Basic math and computer skills are necessary.
- Knowledge of GLOVIA inventory database is helpful but not required.
- Material handlers may be certified on the use of forklifts and other material moving equipment.
