Job Description : Material Handler II Job Location : Westbrook, ME Shift Hours : 1st shift 6am-2:30pm Position Summary: The Material Handler II position is located within the Infectious Disease Developed Markets business unit in Scarborough, Maine. This role plays a key part in shipping and receiving operations across all departments, demonstrating expertise in handling freight forwarders' documentation for both domestic and international shipments. The Material Handler II is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy through spot checks and cycle counts. Responsibilities:
- Provide timely delivery of materials to production work centers while ensuring strict inventory controls.
- Demonstrate proficiency in adhering to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Pack and ship customer orders efficiently and accurately.
- Receive and distribute inbound packages within the facility.
- Maintain inventory control across all stock locations.
- Fulfill material requisitions and deliver them to appropriate departments.
- Manage and execute the cycle count program to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Maintain precise documentation for the disposal of materials as per company policies.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of warehouse and shipping areas.
- Be available for call back or extended hours as necessary.
Basic Qualifications | Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED), or a combination of education and related experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of warehouse/material handling experience.
- Valid Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in material handling, freight logistics, and receiving within an FDA, ISO, GMP regulated environment.
Competencies:
- Proficiency in operating a fork truck and other warehouse equipment.
- Knowledge of Internet software, Inventory software, Order processing systems, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.
- Functional understanding of shipping, receiving, and inventory control procedures.
