We have been featured in The New York Times, Food & Wine and Bon Appetit and named a favorite by celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow, Alton Brown and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.We are looking for a Material Handler who is responsible for the physical day to day material movement of all raw components and finished goods in the Production Facility. This individual works regularly in our inventory management system so strong computer skills are also required. This is a first shift position (7AM-3:30PM) scheduled Monday-Friday at our Elk Grove Village, IL production center. Pay starts at $18/hr with full-time benefits and room for advancement.Responsibilities and Duties
  • Ensure that all Spice House products meet or exceed all company quality standards and report out of conformance products
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments to ensure they meet quality standards and match purchase orders
  • Organize, coordinate and assemble raw components needed for each production area prior to each job being run.
  • Weigh and count raw components at the end of each job. Return to warehouse and ensure inventory in the MRP system matches on hand amounts.
  • Follow and observe inventory stock rotation directives
  • Notify management of low inventory levels or special situations that may arise
  • Read and understand all manufacturing orders with the ability to notice any discrepancies
  • Understand all product specs and have a full understanding of all available products offered
  • Record and monitor lot number tracking information accurately in the computer system
  • Safely operate designated equipment used in general warehouse environment, pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Keep designated work areas clean, including sweeping and mopping of floors and cleaning of shelving and racking as designated
  • Understand and interpret product codes and labels
  • Properly complete all material movement and inspection documents and logs
  • Assist in resolving allocation or inventory issues with components
  • All other duties as assigned by the Inventory Supervisor
Requirements
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Strong Computer Skills and ability to read, write and count in English
  • Forklift certification strongly preferred (or willingness to be certified), valid driver's license required
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; attention to detail
  • You are self-motivated and maintain a clean work environment at all times
  • You have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • You take initiative and are always looking to improve processes.
  • You demonstrate a professional and positive demeanor in all situations.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check required
