Material Handler

Tracking Code 12357-159 Job Description **POSITION SCOPE: Safely operates all assigned equipment to move material. Uses all equipment and effectively completes all paperwork accurately. Prepare all products for damage free shipments. Procedures well established and should be followed. Supervisor readily available as needed.**

**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:**

* Operates forklift, squeeze box and clamp truck safely (including charging and maintenance of propane and batteries) Performs daily PM checklist.

* Load/Unload trucks and rail cars.

* Operate SAP system to check inventory, locations, WIP and production schedule to accurately retrieve material from the job pick lists.

* Knowledgeable of SAP procedures for movement of materials and be able to complete efficiently and accurately

* Work with other material handlers, operators and assistants to keep production areas serviced.

* Assist less experienced material handlers when necessary

* Work toward and maintain an accurate orderly inventory by placing product in appropriate location

* Work in safe manner and assure co-workers work in safe manner

* Help in general housekeeping

Perform other duties as assigned

Required Experience **POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:**

* High school diploma

* Knowledge in transportation principles and function

* Ability to function in a team environment

* Knowledge in PIV skills for Forklift, Clamp and/or Squeeze truck.

* Must be able to work OT as needed

* Good communication skills

* Knowledge of computerized logistics systems

* Adheres to an appropriate and effective set of core values; advances positive culture

**Desired Background****:**

* 1-3 years of transportation/shipping experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.

* Knowledge in logistic systems

* Computer experience
