Job DetailsJob Location Main - Madison, WI Description $17/Hour Position Summary: Responsible to act in accordance with the policies set forth in the current procedures manual(s). In this position the DSC Warehouse maybe asked to assist in, but limited to: Receiving, Stocking (put away), Pick Orders via RF scanner, Pack Orders then final ship process to carriers. Other duties within the Warehouse to be performed are listed below. Overview of Essential Duties / Functions:Receiving, Stocking, Picking, Packing and Shipping Assist in incoming Receiving of product, Stock (Put away) product, Pick Orders, Pack orders accurately, efficiently and quickly with appropriate packing materials for the safe and error-free packing and ensure compliance with the company goal of same day order shipment; Create packing solutions to non-standard shipments - e.g. oversized, heavyweight, odd sized orders. Includes preparing parcels for mailing.
- Possess awareness of the physical layout of the warehouse. Understand the concept of serpentine picking and understand how to locate any product location given the shelf location number.
- Assist as necessary with unloading inbound trucks and receiving of product, verify actual quantity to packing list, receipt transaction in ERP
- Pick orders accurately, efficiently and quickly to ensure compliance with the company goal of same day order shipment and achieving minimum pick level of 45 order lines per hour without errors.
- Use the handheld RF to pick sales orders, Cycle Counts, transfers and shipping requests.
- Understand the inherent advantages and disadvantages to shipping with the various third-party carriers that are used, UPS, FEDEX, freight carriers, US Mail, etc.
- Knowledge of authorized freight companies and procedures for creating freight bills of lading.
- Efficiently load packed orders onto the UPS truck according to the posted schedule.
- Able to; operate Forklift, Cardboard Bailer, miscellaneous Material Handling Equipment.

Environment
- Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for warehouse and office personnel and visitor traffic by organizing warehouse and work area for orderliness always, maintain clean and organized warehouse stock aisles and shelves, including sweeping, dusting, vacuuming and mopping as warranted.
- Never permit more than one vendor carton to be open in a given location, break down and dispose of cardboard cartons, unnecessary shrink wrap, peanuts, vendor strapping bands, cardboard and pallets
Safety
- Never use equipment without proper training.

QualificationsEducation / Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Three months or more experience on a computer system; familiarity with handheld RF computer operations and printer basics
- Basic knowledge of all material handling equipment; pallet jack, hand truck, tape machines, etc.
- Three months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to assemble, count, label and shrink wrap cartons on a shipping pallet and to create shipping paperwork.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write basic reports and fill in worksheets, if requested.

- This position required the ability to occasionally move about the manufacturing facility to access tools, equipment, etc.
