The Company National Strand is part of the Metals Processing Group which produces steel wire and cable/wire-related products that serve many industries and is wholly owned by The Heico Companies, LLC. Job Description • Obtain loading order from Shipping Manager. • Locate material, check product identification and weights. • Load and unload vehicles correctly and safely. • Work outside in all weather conditions, as required. • Responsible for proper operation and minor maintenance of forklift. • Complete driver checklist daily. • Maintain proper quality specifications. • Maintain required housekeeping of work area and observe all safety rules. • Maintain material in stock organized. • Prepare shipments ahead of time. • Use RF Scanners and have basic computer skills to print out shipping tags. • Reports inventory shortages, overages, and defective products in a timely manner. • Pre-plan organization of orders for customers. • Maintain stock organized and easily accessible. • Help the Shipping Department prep outgoing material from inventory. • Process scrap material. • Relocates materials in proper locations. • Performs accurate cycle counts of inventory. • Label each location with product info, item number, description, and location. • When moving carriers, forklift forks must not be in contact with the wire or strand at any time. • If asked by a supervisor to support another department (spoolers, coilers, rereelers and shipping) material handler must assist. • Constantly pay attention to your surrounding workstations to ensure a consistent supply of products for the next step in the process. • Perform other duties as required and assigned. Job Requirements Experience: Minimum 3+ years of forklift operating experience and minimum 1 year of inventory control Education: Highschool diploma Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal communication. Technology: Strong working knowledge of MS Office and other support software, RF scanner. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work - This is a full-time position. Overtime, evening, and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms, lift and/or carry 75 pounds or more, balance, bend, stoop or kneel, climb, push/pull and squat, or crouch.
